Nowadays, people constantly use "smart" gadgets: smartphones, watches, vacuum cleaners and kettles. This rapid technological development is driving the world's cities to actively develop smart city concepts. As more and more metropolitan cities in Europe (and beyond) try to use information and digital technologies to improve the quality of life of citizens, the question arises: which cities are making the most progress?
Life in Europe
ProptechOS Corporation, which develops technologies to turn buildings into elements of smart cities, conducted a study covering 100 cities in Europe and the United States. The aim of the study was to determine the "mind" of each city based on 12 key indicators related to technological infrastructure, labor market and green infrastructure. Scientists took into account a lot of data, including the speed of the Internet and the availability of charging stations for electric cars. Each city was evaluated on a 100-point scale in each of the categories presented.
Those cities that adapt most effectively to new environmentally sustainable trends have great potential to thrive in the future. Indeed, in the context of the rapid development of technology and the growing interest in environmental sustainability, the most developed and progressive cities will be able to offer the best conditions for living and working.
