The most beautiful near Baikal: what places are worth visiting when visiting the lake

Baikal is the deepest lake and the largest freshwater body of water on the planet. It is located in the south of Eastern Siberia, in the Republic of Buryatia it has the name "Baigal Dalai". In addition to the amazing views opening from the lake and enchanting every tourist who has visited Baikal, tourists have access to many cultural monuments, natural heritage sites, and unique attractions.

Let us dwell in more detail on the three most interesting and stunningly beautiful, in the opinion of a traveler, places on Lake Baikal.

Sandy bay

It is located in the south-west of the coast at the foot of the Primorsky ridge and is considered the most famous bay of Lake Baikal.

From the north of the bay opens the Big Kolokolny Cape, shaped by nature in the form of a huge rock. There is a legend, told by local residents, that once upon a time there was a majestic lighthouse on this place.
If you look to the south of the harbor, there we will find the Small Bell Cape, imitating in its shape a pyramid.

In addition to amazing views, visitors are attracted to the bay by luxurious sandy beaches, after which it got its name. The golden sand warmed by the warm rays of the sun makes it possible to compare this place with the paradise islands or at least with the most popular foreign resorts.

Connoisseurs of natural wonders will find here unique trees "on their feet", which have received the official status of a natural monument and are considered a treasure of the lake flora.

Barguzinsky Bay

Let's pay attention to the largest and deepest bay of Baikal, located in the Barguzinsky region of Buryatia.

Locals proudly talk about all the beauties and remarkable places of the coast: majestic mountain ranges, mineral water springs, nearby taiga regions, full of various types of berries and mushrooms. Tourists can stay in boarding houses and recreation centers, ready to receive all year round those who want to enjoy the local landscapes and nature.

Fans of outdoor activities will also not be left out of the hospitality of Lake Baikal. The bay offers fishing, hiking in the mountains, amazing views and the cleanest air of the Barguzinsky Bay - an ideal resting place for body and soul.

Bay Babushka

A place that has recently opened for tourists, beckoning to itself with crystal clear water of the color of the sky, white sand and framed by bright green forests and rocks. "Babushka" is not inferior in beauty to Peschanaya Bay, which was mentioned earlier, despite its more modest size.

The nature around is carefully protected by local authorities and defenders of flora and fauna, which, together with the distant location of the bay from settlements, keeps it pristine. Getting here is not so easy: in addition to using transport, you will have to overcome the pedestrian passage, which will take up to half an hour, but the charm of the bay will not leave anyone indifferent.

These are just a few places of one of the most beautiful places on the planet, which is not without reason considered not only the pearl of Siberia, but also one of the miracles of the planet.
