St. Thomas University is a private Catholic university, founded in 1946 in Cuba. In 1961, Fidel Castro's militia confiscated the university’s land and property, expelled students and priests, after which the students fled to Miami and organized a men's Catholic college there. In 1961, the college received the status of a higher educational institution and today offers applicants 23 undergraduate specialties, 24 master's programs, 4 doctoral programs.

St. Thomas University in Miami is a member of:

The campus, located in Miami Gardens, covers an area of 150 acres: in the immediate vicinity of the famous beaches of Miami, Winwood Arts District, MiMo District, Fort Lauderdale.
