Review about Seattle Central College
Seattle Central College accepts students from all over the world - you will never be alone: everyone very quickly makes friends.
The first days, of course, were a little uneasy - but I very quickly managed to overcome the language barrier. Teachers from SCC helped me. They are kind, sensitive and understanding teachers, they are always ready to help and will not allow to feel uncomfortable because of insufficient language proficiency. Their smiles and participation gave energy and stimulus for studying. The first thing that catches your eye is the modernity, the technical side of education: in classrooms they do not have ordinary boards with chalk, but special boards with a marker.
Each class has computers, a scanner, a projector: teachers often show us educational films, students give their presentations. Students often use a computer lab (if you need to search something on the Internet, print files) and a library with a special "Quite Zone" - this is a quiet room in which you can quietly work out and you will not be distracted. If you have something that remains unclear after the lesson, you can contact the Learning Center, where the teacher will tell you in detail about this or that difficult topic, and it's absolutely free.
For students who want to build a career in medicine, the whole floor is assigned to practical classrooms and laboratories that are divided into areas: dentistry, nurses, optics, surgery and others. It is very encouraging that these practical classes and the help of teachers do not depend on the amount of payment in the college - there is no such option that the more you pay, the more opportunities you have. You just need to choose the most suitable and convenient college for yourself.
With many guys you get acquainted with visiting interesting clubs - SCC provides excellent opportunities for revealing your talents and abilities. Clubs here are very diverse: both sports, and for amateur photographers, and just groups where you can exchange interesting addresses in Seattle. Any student can join the club: leaflets hang everywhere, where and when one or another circle gathers, is very convenient. In American colleges, leaders are considered non-elders, and members of Leadership - this organization is responsible for all clubs and events. Every spring a new selection is made, and getting into leadership is considered honorable, there are many advantages in this work. I was very happy when I was able to become a part of leadership!
There are free classes available for students SCC in the sports club MAC - just cross the road. There are a lot of sports and simulators here, and they are free for students: yoga, boxing, sauna, gym, table and tennis, football, billiards. And the college itself constantly conducts sports games and competitions.
Every day you learn something new and do not cease to admire the beauty of Seattle. In the city itself there are a large number of beautiful parks and gardens, close to water: local people like to feed ducks and arrange barbecues. At the highest building of the city - the tower of the Space Needle (184 meters high!) - offers a stunning view over the city, the tower can be visited with an excursion or enter a restaurant on top. Night view of Seattle - beautiful! Everyone loves the local small market with fresh and delicious products and handicrafts of local people. Very interesting museum EMP - it is devoted to modern mass culture, inside you can even buy the figures of Batman, Superman, the heroes of the famous serials. And what about the stunning annual Tulip Festival! If you are in Seattle in the first weeks of April - do not miss it!
It is very convenient to travel around the city by bus: they all go strictly according to the schedule and do not get into traffic jams. All air-conditioned buses are clean and new, with polite and smiling drivers - and you can pay for the trip either by special travel card or by cash in a special machine right on the bus. Very convenient and no conductors!
In general, Seattle can be called a fairly rainy city: on average 4 days a week it rains (although last summer it was very clear and hot, more than 30 degrees almost every day). Probably, because of the weather, the people of Seattle love coffee so much. :)
The great impression was left by Christmas, a holiday that is celebrated in America on December 25 and is considered to be one of the most beautiful and beloved: the city is adorned, lights burn everywhere and Santa Clauses play Christmas hymns ... Very kind, beautiful and sincere holiday!
The same important date is the Independence Day, which is celebrated on July 4 - this is the beginning of the history of the United States as a free and independent country. This is a national celebration with fireworks, parades, carnivals, barbecues, fairs, concerts and a huge number of other events - to stay away just will not work!
Now I have already finished the CIE program and have received the corresponding certificate: I can read books and watch films in the original, freely conduct a conversation and write an essay. I want to continue studying English make it perfect!
