Language Foundation Program

Saint John's accepts students from abroad with any level of English proficiency. To improve skills, a language program is offered, which is designed to help foreign students learn English. It is divided into 3 courses, depending on the current level of language proficiency.

The Language Foundation is aimed at improving and deepening academic English skills, designed to prepare students for successful studies in upper secondary school and at the higher education level. Language Foundation classes are held at different times of the day and are focused on building confidence in and out of the classroom.

  • Level 3 - provides an opportunity to improve fluency in all areas of academic English: speaking, listening, reading and writing in classes that are created for general secondary school classes.
  • Support Level 2 is the upper middle level. Classes include the development of academic fluency, academic skills in writing, reading, listening, speaking, and vocabulary.
  • Support Level 1 – Advanced, classes consist of improving English language skills: writing, reading, vocabulary and critical thinking.

Admission dates and extra charges

Saint John's accepts students in grades 9-10 in the fall and spring, and grade 11 is only accepted in the fall.
