Master

From creative writing and sustainability research to criminal justice and psychology, the College of Arts and Sciences has a suitable master's degree program for everyone.

The College of Education prepares students to obtain licenses to teach in the state of Illinois in preschool, elementary, secondary, secondary and special education.

Choose from 16 research skills development programs and gain real-world clinical experience in the College of Science, Health and Pharmacy. In March 2020, Roosevelt teamed up with Robert Morris University in Illinois to add new programs in nursing, exercise, health, and wellness.

PhD (doctoral studies) 

Roosevelt University's Doctor of Pharmacy program is the first accelerated PharmD program in the Midwest. With rigorous, patient-centered courses, you'll be prepared to join a healthcare team, providing evidence-based pharmaceutical care across all healthcare settings. Join the community of competent, dedicated and compassionate pharmacists!

Roosevelt University offers the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) programs.

  • The PharmD program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), has a unique year-round schedule that allows students to graduate in three calendar years (as opposed to the secondary PharmD program, which usually takes four).
  • The PsyD program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Only 20 new students are accepted annually.

International Year One 

The International Year One program includes two areas:

  • Business, Mathematics and Introduction to Law,
  • Science.

The duration of the programs is 2, 3 or 4 semesters (depending on the level of English of the applicant). All programs include intensive English classes + academic courses. After completing the course, students enter undergraduate programs in more than 30 areas.

Pre-Masters

The Pre-Master's Program prepares students for admission to the Master's program:

  • MBA (Master of Business Administration), 17 areas,
  • MPA (Master of Public Administration), 3 directions,
  • MS (Master of Science, Master of Science), 13 areas,
  • MA (Master of Arts, Master of Arts), 4 directions.

The duration of the program is 1 or 2 semesters (depending on the level of the language). The programs include English language classes and a general academic course, the direction and content of which is negotiated separately with each applicant.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Roosevelt University's student residences occupy the top 17 floors of the Wabash Building, offering unparalleled panoramic views of chicago's skyline and lakefront from downtown.

All first- and second-year full-time students must live on campus.

Meal and accommodation costs:

  • Dormitory – from 3897,43$
  • WB Standard Meal Plan – $4,350 (All-you-care-to-eat includes 14 meals per week and flexible $500 per year) 
  • WB Deluxe Meal Plan – $5050 (All-you-care-to-eat plan includes 19 meals per week).
  • The deposit for housing in the amount of $ 250, paid together with the application for housing, is not refundable 10 calendar days after the signing of the contract.

Activities Roosevelt University Chicago

The university offers students the PODSS program, whose mission is to create a transformative learning environment that will allow participants to focus on personal growth and development, introspection, relationship building and teamwork. Through working with Office of Residence Life staff and faculty, participating in charity work, traveling, guest speakers, and regularly communicating with each other, students gain broad connections.

Directions of the program:

  • Arts & Adventure – Explore the world of photography, music, painting, film and more with Arts Adventure POD. This direction is designed for students who are passionate about creativity and want to improve their skills, discover hidden talents in themselves.
  • LEAD (Leadership Through Interaction, Advocacy and Dedication) – increasing the level of learning and involvement of students through participation in charitable work. This direction focuses on the topic of social justice: students learn to be civic, participate in charitable initiatives inside and outside the Roosevelt campus.
  • ROOT is a direction for those who are interested in studying biological, physical and health sciences, a community for novice scientists.
  • Green Life – residents of this community will become environmental leaders on campus, will participate in excursions, events and volunteer activities that contribute to the achievement of the University's goals in the field of sustainable development, remain faithful to its mission of social justice.

Enrolment process

  • Step 1 – fill in the online application form
  • Step 2 – Provide a combined secondary school GPA for at least 3 years of study and SAT/ACT test results (the test is not mandatory for most majors for the 2021-2022 academic year). Self-report information is accepted for most programs, but an official statement may be required for admission.

Foreign diplomas will need to be confirmed by a certified assessment agency.

Perspectives

Roosevelt University students apply what they have learned outside the classroom in one of 150 hands-on courses. Thanks to this, they gain a wealth of experience that helps them when applying for a job.

Apprentices turn to career counsellors to prepare applications for a master's degree or at the interview stage with a potential employer. The university conducts career seminars on a wide range of topics, from workplace culture to salary negotiations.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Knowledge of English:

  • TOEFL – Official exam results must be submitted to the admissions office. The minimum score required for direct admission to the bachelor's degree preparation program = 80.
  • IELTS – the minimum score required for direct admission to the degree program = 6.5.

Roosevelt University accepts foreign certificates from the following agencies:

  • Educational Document Evaluators (ECE),
  • World Education Services (WES),
  • International Foundation for Research in Education (IERF).

The university accepts grades of foreign diplomas from other active NACES member agencies, but only from those that require official transcripts, grades for each course.
