In 1982, the Savior Christian College was founded in Hamilton, Ontario, by the Christian Reformed Community for theological research and preparing students for a bachelor's degree in Christian studies. In the early years, about 100 students attended college.
In 1998, Ontario authorities allowed the college to teach undergraduate and bachelor of science degrees. Programs have undergone serious testing and have been approved by accrediting organizations. Programs were later developed for a bachelor's degree in education.
In 2003, the Christian Teacher Education Program, the only one in the province, was approved. In 2005, the word University was added to the name of the College of the Savior, and the emblem of the institution was approved.
For 37 years, the college has established academic and student traditions: annual conferences, joint traditional services, student events known to each student and graduate are held.
Tolerance is one of the laws of the institution: representatives of 40 Christian denominations, students from 10 different countries study here. College staff maintains the moral and spiritual atmosphere of Redeemer University College, their faith and knowledge inspire students to study.

Facilities and equipment at Redeemer University College
The campus occupies 90 hectares and is located in the suburbs. College students are provided with comfortable dormitories in two-story townhouses: each has 3-4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and basements. For all residents, wireless Internet access, a local telephone, 24-hour campus security are available, there are places for common recreation, parking.
In 4 residences (Kelvin Court, Luther Court, Kranmer Court, Augustine Hall) there are 43 townhouses. For family students, people with disabilities, older students in Luther Court there are separate apartments with all amenities.
Students at Redeemer University College play sports seriously. Student Sports Club Redeemer Royals coaches the male and female teams in volleyball, basketball, soccer, hockey teams. They compete among university teams, some of them at the district level.
For sports, tennis courts, football fields, volleyball and basketball courts, gyms were built.
