Pepperdine University is a private research institution of higher education. The university was founded in 1937 by entrepreneur George Pepperdine, then the number of campuses expanded in 1972. At the moment, education takes place in several points - the main territory in Malibu, four campuses in Southern California, the center in Washington and international campuses:

Accommodation, meals, prices

Seaver College student residences are more than ten residential buildings that house students in same-sex double suites. Most buildings are equipped with common areas: sports grounds, laundries, living rooms, garden courtyards with barbecue. Each home is home to two resident counselors and one spiritual life advisor who support students.

Accommodation for Pepperdine students:

  • The Drescher Campus consists of 13 apartment buildings housing Seaver College students and Pepperdine graduate students. Each apartment is equipped with four single bedrooms, shared bathrooms, kitchens, living room.

In the fitness center Drescher, located in the complex, there are many simulators, shells. Residents also have access to an Olympic-size swimming pool, nine tennis courts, basketball courts, a treadmill and physical education classes. On weekdays, café Drescher, located in the representative center of Villa Graziadio, offers a wide selection of hot dishes, custom-made sandwiches, ready meals, drinks.

  • Across the street from Caruso Law School is the George Page Apartment Complex, providing quick access to the campus, the Jerin Appleby Harnish Law Library. The complex consists of four blocks of apartments arranged around a green courtyard. Each apartment is equipped with four single bedrooms, shared bathrooms, kitchens, living room. The building has a gym, a café.

The cost per semester of accommodation ranges from 6390 to 8500 $ depending on comfort, the number of neighbors in the apartment.

Accommodation is offered to students during the academic year, as well as in the summer - for an additional fee ($ 1410 for 4 weeks).

Meal plans are designed for 8-28 meals per week, available for all or some categories of students. The semester price ranges from 305 to 4270 $. Summer meal plans are available for $620-$930.

Activities Pepperdine University Malibu

Students participate in NCAA intercollegiate athletics competitions.

The university sponsors seventeen NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports teams:

  • baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf, tennis, track, volleyball and water polo teams for men;
  • basketball, cross-country running, golf, football, swimming and diving, tennis, athletics, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball for women.
  • There are also several intercollegiate sports clubs: women's lacrosse, surfing, men's rugby.

The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts hosts theatrical performances and music concerts. The center's art gallery regularly hosts thematic exhibitions.

Facilities and equipment at Pepperdine University Malibu

The Malibu campus is located on 830 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the coast. It is considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the world in terms of scenery, architecture and has been described as "a place that looks more like a beach resort than a private university." The campus overlooks Santa Monica Bay, Catalina Island, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and much of the west of Los Angeles.

The most distinctive feature of the Malibu campus is the Phillips Themed Tower with a 125-foot obelisk. The tower was built in 1974 as a symbol of the university's dedication to christian mission.

Alumni Park is located in the lowest part of Malibu's campus near the coast. It is a 30-acre expanse of lawns, trails, hills, ponds and coral trees overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The park serves as the venue for the university's introductory teachings.

The main academic area for undergraduate programs is on a hill: campus center, library, Weissmann Art Museum. Housing for students, sports facilities are located to the north-west of the academic complex. The Dröscher Campus is adjacent to the central campus on the northwest side.

The University operates several international campuses in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Argentina, and the United Kingdom.

The academic year begins in September, consists of two semesters: autumn and spring. A session is held during the summer months. The program consists of credits, the number of which is calculated by the annual cost of education. You can study in full-time format or completely remotely.
