Omsk State Medical University (OMSMU) is one of the oldest and largest medical institutions of higher education. The university was established in 1920 on the basis of the department at the Siberian Veterinary and Zootechnical Institute. Until 2015, Omsk State Medical University held the title of an academy, later it adopted the status of a university.

There are six dormitory buildings on campus:
- Corridor-type buildings for 380-430 people. One room is shared by 3 students, common areas are self-study classes, gyms, kitchens, showers, toilets.
- Sectional buildings for 520 students. 10 people live in one section, showers and toilets are equipped. Among the common areas: kitchens, self-study areas, gyms. Living rooms are designed for 2-3 students.
Students are provided with the necessary furniture, bed linen. The monthly fee for accommodation depends on the building, the number of neighbors, utilities: from 350 to 800 p.
Activities Omsk State Medical University
Traditionally, a number of events are organized at the university: "Dedication to students" in September, "New Year's Ball" on January holidays, "Student Spring" in April-May. For extracurricular development, creative teams are open: KVN, dance ensembles, music groups, sports sections. Omsk State University national teams regularly lead in Spartakiads of inter-university and city levels.
