Review about Newcastle University

(30.09.2022)
I entered this university for a master's program in Biomedical Engineering through a pre-master's preparatory course, since the first education was received in Russia, and the level of English was not enough. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, quite a large part of my training took place online. But I believe that the university has managed to implement a full-fledged online program, at least in our area. All theoretical modules were given to us in accordance with the course plan. Laboratory practice, of course, suffered, since we were able to practice only at the end of the year. In general, for adults who are purposefully educated, I don't see much of a problem with online learning. At least at this university, everything is organized quite clearly, the teachers always answered my questions quickly by email. If the work was not done very well, they gave detailed comments and allowed to retake.

Our son studied at this university. Bachelor's degree program in chemistry. The university was recommended to us for a consultation at the Smaps agency. Since the child graduated from a simple Russian school, we were first enrolled in the preparatory year at the university, and then he moved on to the first year. I want to say a big thank you to the manager Elina, who helped us with the choice of the program and enrollment. It was important for us that after graduation, our son would definitely be able to enter the first year. And so it happened. There were very good curators at the preparatory program, they helped to apply for admission to the first year. We also connected our manager from Smaps and asked him to control the process. As a result, the transition to the first year at the university went smoothly and quickly. We chose the faculty in advance. The university itself is impressive, a very beautiful campus, a library. All this time, the son lived in the residence of the university, there are a lot of options, the living conditions suited him. The university helped to find the first job, then the son himself found another place.

Newcastle is one of the best student cities in England, and the University of Newcastle is the best university to study engineering. I did bachelor's and master's degrees here. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2017 and a master's degree in 2019. Briefly, of the main advantages: excellent teaching staff, and since engineers are the largest group of students in Newcastle, the university has links with many industrial companies where you can do compulsory internships and find a job. Student support in general has always been at a very good level. Another big plus is accommodation, there are quite a lot of options (especially if you are puzzled by these questions in advance), and the prices are quite adequate, compared to other student cities. A small drawback of the university is the limited number of clubs for students. Although in 2019 there were many more of them in 2017. So, perhaps, this defect will soon be corrected.
