The Monaghan Collegiate School was founded in 1570: today it is a mixed education institution (both girls and boys are studying), under the patronage of the Protestant church (the whole church is patronized by 28 Irish schools). This is a very small, cozy and chamber private school in Ireland - the total number of students is about 250 people. Monaghan Collegiate School is located in the city of Monaghan, in Ireland: it is famous for its human, attentive and warm attitude to each student, active development of the creative, intellectual and sports potential of its pupils. A safe and comfortable learning environment is created for every student, regardless of his nationality, origin, colour or religious affiliation: despite the official religion of the school (Protestantism), children of any faith can learn here. The small city of Monaghan has a total of about 6,200 inhabitants: it is located near the northern state border, 130 kilometers from Dublin.
The purpose of the High School Program is to enable children of different nationalities and backgrounds to receive a quality education, to teach them to perceive a different point of view and someone else's opinion, to cultivate tolerance and respect for others. Students become more friendly and tolerant, better understand intercultural processes throughout the world and are ready for life in the modern international community. The program is selective: for admission to the course the child must demonstrate a sufficiently high level of knowledge, independence and perseverance in order to meet the high standards of the Royal School Cavan. Lessons are usually held in the morning, from 8:55 to 16:05, additional lessons last until 5:30 pm (breaks are provided). Children are engaged on weekdays (from Monday to Friday), 1 lesson lasts 35-40 minutes. Classes are formed in small, up to 20 people in each: this gives the teachers the opportunity to implement an individual approach, to closely monitor the progress and difficulties of each student.
Behavior of the student is monitored by the host family in whose house he lives during studying, as well as his local curator, school teachers and educators.
