The private Irish boarding school Kings Hospital School Dublin has been successfully operating for more than 300 years: founded in 1669, it is considered one of the oldest institutions in Ireland.

Initially, in 1669, the company was indeed a hospital and operated as a non-profit school under King Charles II: then the school was in Dublin on Queen Street, in 1783 she moved to Blackhall Place (now the Irish Lawyers' Association works there). In the suburbs of Dublin, Brooklyn (Palmerston) the school moved in 1957-1966, as the institution included two more smaller schools - at the same time a mixed form of eduaction was adopted here, and girls began to study on a par with young men.

At the Kings Hospital School Dublin, a traditional six-year program for international students is offered for students aged 12-18:

Brief information: After the completion of the Junior Certificate program, the traditional for the Irish schools are the Intermediate Year (Transition Year): during this period they consolidate personal and academic knowledge, skills are identified with priority directions for future classes, with the most necessary disciplines for in-depth, thorough study.

Already after the Transition Year, high school students begin to master the graduating program Leaving Certificate, which gives them a qualitative preparation for the chosen university direction.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Residences for boarding students (capacity - up to 300 people) are located directly on the campus: international students are offered cozy rooms with amenities for 2-6 people. For high school students, there are two double bedrooms in a separate building of Bluecoat House. There is a cleaning service in the residences, access to the laundry is available - as required, pupils can also receive psychological assistance.

It is possible to choose a full (weekly) or five-day boarding school (in the latter case, students spend their weekend outside the campus).
Almost half of the teachers and administrative staff of the school also live on campus with their families: they are always ready to help students to solve any problems, help them organize leisure or educational process.

Board meals are served in the general school cafeteria on the principle of self-service: every day students are provided with a wide choice of mouth-watering, healthy dishes, including for vegetarians and students with special nutritional / medical needs.

  • Any regalia and awards for academic, sporting, creative and social achievements;
  • Results of testing in a foreign language;
