IB (International Baccalaureate)

  • Age: 16-18 years.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma), created more than 50 years ago in Switzerland, is now available in Russia! The IB diploma allows you to enter foreign universities, often without additional entrance exams and additional preparatory programs.

What makes IB unique?

  1. Theory of Knowledge course: it forms a systematic approach to learning, unites academic disciplines, develops critical thinking. Students study the very nature of knowledge, understand that knowledge is the generation of ideas by man.

  2. Writing an Extended Essay: an independent study of each student, an in-depth study of the problem that concerns the chosen subject in the training course. An essay on global problems provides an opportunity to focus on areas of global importance – and consider them with the help of knowledge in at least two subjects.

  3. CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) course: this is a combination of diverse types of activities in addition to the main academic course:

    1. Creativity forms creative thinking, introduces students to the world of art;

    2. Activity is the education of a healthy lifestyle, love of physical activity and sports;

    3. Social activity is the context of general education for obtaining new knowledge.

  4. Informed choice of the student, including a personal set of disciplines – the program is individualized.

  5. An academically intensive course of an increased level of complexity.

  6. All subjects (except for the native language and literature) are taught in English, which is indispensable as a preparation for foreign education.

Admission dates and extra charges

In Khoroshkol there is no universal schedule of classes - children are not forced into frames, strict plans are not imposed on them. Students study in a comfortable individual rhythm, focusing only on their own achievements and interests. The school day lasts from morning to evening, including compulsory and optional classes, circles, activities for organizing leisure activities.

The academic year is divided into terms, but the schedule of classes is made by the student himself or his parents.

Training is based on tutoring - once a week the child attends an interview (training) with his tutor, and together they make a plan for the coming school days. The teacher monitors the success of his ward, together with him sums up the results.
