INTO Manchester is a specialized educational center for foreign students wishing to study in Britain. There are several programs offered for applicants for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses. Also, language courses of different intensity are conducted here.

The studying center is becoming for many a launching pad when receiving a high-quality British education. It differs not only in the high level of educational services, but also in a convenient location. The educational center is not far from the historical part of Manchester. Edwardian building, Bridgewater House, which it occupies, is among the city's sights.

This educational institution offers educational (academic) and language programs. They are developed by NCUK and recognized by 11 British universities. Students who have successfully completed INTO courses are guaranteed places on selected university programs (subject to admission requirements).

After the preparatory department, you can go to the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Salford, Manchester Metropolitan University, The University of Manchester, University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, University of Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan University, University of Huddersfield, University of Bradford. Also in Ireland and Britain, another 8 partner universities are taking on the studying of successful graduates of INTO Manchester.

Terms of admission to INTO Manchester

The educational center offers programs for foreign applicants aged 16+. An obligatory condition is also the presence of a complete secondary education. The average score of the certificate does not matter. The following academic requirements are applied to applicants:

  • for preparatory programs - English knowledge is not lower than IELTS from 4.5 (for most courses - IELTS 5.0 and above);
  • for language programs - the level of basic studying from A1 to B2.

Diploma for University graduates:

A one-year program is aimed at future masters who want a degree in the UK. The specialized preparatory course includes academic and language blocks. The program is available for entrants in the field of management and business.

The academic block of the course includes the basic profile disciplines. Later, students continue to study at a magistracy in one of the partner universities. The language block includes grammar, vocabulary, writing, reading, listening, communication, project and research work. The program allows students to develop the skills necessary for studying at a master's degree.

Diploma for University graduates is available for applicants of specialized qualifications and for those who have a bachelor's degree in another specialty. Courses start in January and September. Studying lasts 2-3 trimester with a constant academic load - 22 hours / week.

The accommodation of students is organized in the school residence or a host family.

Academic English:

A combined program for foreign university entrants and INTO programs are aimed at improving language skills and developing academic skills. Its feature is studying through project and research activities. The emphasis is also on communicative practice.

Successful completion of the courses guarantees the enrollment of the foreign student to the priority academic program of INTO. The studying lasts for 1 - 3 trimester. The intensity of the load is 20 hours / week. Courses begin 4 times a year: in April, June, September and January.

International Foundation, International Preparatory Programme

INTO offers two preparatory programs leading to the first year of a bachelor's degree. Over the course of one academic year, students will gain knowledge in their chosen profession, improve their English language proficiency, and improve their study skills.

The center provides an opportunity to take one of two specialized programs:

  • Science, Technology,
  • Business, Humanities.

At the end of the course, students will have a comprehensive knowledge that allows them to enroll in an undergraduate program without hindrance.

International Year One

  • Age — from 17 years old,
  • The duration of the training is one year.

The International Year One program is comparable to the first year of undergraduate study, ideal for international students who do not yet meet the entry requirements for the degree. There is only one track available for study — International Business, Accounting and Finance.

Within one year, students will complete the specialized disciplines of the bachelor's program, improve their English language proficiency and gain experience that will help them move to the second year of their bachelor's degree at the university of their choice. Upon graduation, the student can choose to enroll in any degree related to the fields of business, accounting, and finance.

Accommodation, meals, prices

During the studying in the center, the following accommodation options are possible:

1. Student residence (hostel) is in walking distance from the educational center. Single rooms are leased, equipped with amenities, furnished, with Internet access - from 151 pounds per week;

2. Host family - single rooms of comfort or standard conditions are offered. In the first case, access to the Internet is guaranteed, it is possible to organize dietary meals - from 150 pounds per week (class "standard"), from 190 pounds per week (class "comfort").

Boarding or half board is provided. In residences students are placed on self-service conditions.

The cost of living depends on the type of course and its duration.

A supplement of 280 pounds is charged for living during the 2 weeks of the Christmas holidays.

Activities INTO Manchester Education Center

It is possible to get acquainted with the city in leisure time during walking, cycling, bus tour. From the area to the district it is convenient to get by tram. As for entertainment, those in Manchester are numerous. The city will not be bored lovers of cognitive, active recreation, sports, restaurant and bar pastime.

Facilities and equipment at INTO Manchester Education Center

The educational center has 39 auditoriums equipped with interactive whiteboards, a resource center, its own library, several computer labs with wired Internet access, a Wi-Fi point, all the necessary resources for effective self-preparation of students. Also in the educational institution are housing, administrative services.

Here each student studies in the most comfortable conditions. The effectiveness of studying is enhanced by the use of modern teaching technologies. Students of all programs are granted access to the electronic resources of the center. The service includes an electronic library with a lot of materials available for download, a platform for online discussions.

Admission dates and extra charges

The school year is divided into terms, which begin in June, September, January and March. For rest there are holidays, weekends and vacations.

The follow components are paid additionally:

  • registration fee - 150 pounds;
  • transfer - 45 pounds one way;
  • textbooks - from 210 pounds (2-3 terms course), from 420 pounds (6 trimesters);
  • textbooks for undergraduate courses in English - from 70 pounds;
  • payment for the use of laboratory equipment - 400 pounds;
  • insurance - from 6640 pounds to 58111 pounds, depending on term of coverage and conditions.

Enrolment process

The registration procedure for the courses consists of several stages:

  • Filling out an online form, submitting documents,
  • Payment of the registration fee,
  • Receiving a response from the Admissions Committee with the results of the application review and further instructions,
  • Filling out the acceptance form, making a deposit to book a place on the course,
  • Arrival at the campus and start of training.

Upon arrival at the study area, students will have a welcome week, during which they will receive valuable tips:

  • Expert visa support,
  • Registration of data with the police, bank and other state institutions,
  • Opening a bank account,
  • Recommendations for making appointments with doctors, dentists,
  • Information about the British legal system.

At the beginning of the program, each student will meet with their academic advisor, to whom they will be able to address any academic and personal questions throughout their period of study at INTO. Counsellors will help you settle in, monitor your academic progress, and may refer you for additional support if needed. 

Enrolment statistics

New students are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each application is reviewed individually and then added to the queue for admission.

Only those applicants who have fulfilled all the entrance requirements: provided the necessary documents, reached the required level of linguistics, and have a full package of personal documents are submitted for admission.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

For admission to INTO programs, international candidates must provide:

  • Copies of academic transcripts from the last few academic years: they are not considered in a priority format for admission, but are needed to create a common personal file of the future student. A certificate of complete secondary education is required for admission to preparatory bachelor's programs, and a bachelor's diploma is required for preparation for master's programs.
  • IELTS certificate or equivalent confirming the level of English. Depending on the chosen course, the level differs: for language programs, you need at least 3.5 on IELTS, for a degree — from 6.0 and above.
  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit.

- MBA requires completed higher education, work experience preferably at least 2-3 years, etc.
