The International College of Research and Advanced Studies is an Australian university where students maximize their potential and acquire the skills needed to choose a profession anywhere in the world.

ICAE also has an international hospitality and commercial cooking program specifically designed for international students that is focused on studying and working with 2 semesters of full-time study in the industry.

ICAE's objectives focus on implementing programs that deliver employment outcomes through innovative learning and capacity building, with a focus on employment outcomes. ICAE has entered into many government contracts aimed at improving the skills of the local workforce, thereby gaining a strong reputation in local government.

Educational process

  • The Australian Department of Education, Employment and Labour Relations (DEEWR) has funded the Productivity Places Program, which recognises an assessment based on prior training for experienced hotel managers.
  • The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has funded pre-employment training for newly arrived humanitarian refugees under the Settlement Grants Programme (SGP).
  • DEEWR funds the Australian Vocational Training Access Programme (AAAP) for low-income job seekers.
  • AusAID funded commercial cooking training for East Timorese in Dili, East Timor.

The International College of Advanced Studies offers a variety of courses for international students. These programs are broadly divided into two main categories: hospitality courses and business courses.

  1. Hospitality Courses

The hospitality courses at ICAE Darwin are designed exclusively for those who want to gain experience in restaurants, casinos and hotels. Such programs help students develop managerial skills that prepare them for mid-level leadership positions. Available destinations:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cooking
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking
  • Certificate IV in Hospitality
  • Diploma in Hospitality Business – Flow of Management
  • Extended Diploma in Hospitality – Flow management.
  1. Business courses. Courses in business and management help to develop a strong set of skills: problem solving, decision-making, strong communication skills and presentation skills. The course structure at ICAE gives students an in-depth understanding of how organisations work. Business courses will also help you prepare to become program coordinators, program consultants, or executive directors. The available direction is Business Diploma.

  • In industry employment semesters (half of the course), students must have paid employment (or unpaid work experience) of 25 to 45 hours per week and are not required to attend college. ICAE teachers regularly evaluate students in the workplace.
  • Darwin has the highest employment rate of any Australian capital. There are many vacancies in the hospitality industry all year round.
  • Students can earn up to A$4,000 per month during internships.
  • ICAE helps with employment.
  • International students receive the same rights in the workplace as Australian workers.

Facilities and equipment at International College of Advanced Education (ICAE)

To promote quality hospitality training, the International College of Excellence offers numerous support resources. The college is equipped with a new purpose-built training kitchen and demonstration equipment for the hospitality industry. In addition, students can take advantage of a variety of other amenities on campus, such as free Wi-Fi and student faculty support.

Students can hone their skills by taking part in professional development programs. These programs will help them forge strong connections with industry professionals while promoting personal growth.

The ICAE Darwin campus includes modern classrooms, espresso machines, and a football field. The college is easily accessible via bike paths, nearby bus stops and ample parking.

Enrolment process

The admission process consists of the following steps:

  • Online Application Form
  • After the student completes the application form, ICAE will send a letter of proposal and acceptance agreement.
  • Verification and signature The student will need to carefully read the offer letter and acceptance agreement, put initials on each page and sign the last page to confirm the document.
  • Administrative fee. Students must then return the signed full Admission Agreement to the ICAE and pay a deposit.
  • eCoE and student visa.
  • You can enroll in college right after high school in Darwin.
