AP Degree

AP Degree is a two-year higher education level where fundamental theory and practical skills are combined: they are equal to the high school in the Danish national education system. International Business Academy offers AP courses in the following areas:

  • finance;
  • sales and marketing;
  • web and multimedia;
  • design management.

Marketing management

The Marketing Management program is available in English, starting in January or in the month of August. Applicants from all countries except the European Union must apply for entry before October 1. Russian students can come here immediately after receiving a certificate of secondary education, plus they must have an appropriate level of mathematics and English: 250 academic hours of mathematics in total for the last 3 years of study, certificates in English IELTS (from 6.5) or TOEFL (minimum 83 ).

The program teaches marketing, sales, management, building effective communications, understanding the markets of the global economy, and also teaches how to scale a business and turn it into an international one. Marketing management includes:

  • compulsory academic subjects;
  • specialized science on the choice of students;
  • 12 weeks of work experience;
  • final draft.

All classroom combines theory and practice, including group work, the study and analysis of real business cases and the tasks that they have put before marketing companies. In addition to campus activities, students attend businesses, take part in business competitions and special events.

The first 2 semesters all study the same compulsory subjects, and when the 3rd begins, each student is given the opportunity to choose a narrow specialization and 3-4 corresponding sciences. The last 4 semester of study includes a 12-week practice in the workplace. Another advantage of the program is its international capabilities. IBA has many partner schools in different countries, and each AP student can study for one semester outside Denmark. In addition to such a full exchange, various short-term reasons are available to visit other states: study visits, open weeks and forums dedicated to business and marketing. All events help to improve the skills of establishing business intercultural contacts, contribute to further better orientation in the world of entrepreneurship.

After graduating from the AP program, you can confidently declare yourself in the labor market, or continue your studies at the bachelor’s level by entering the second course, and such preferential enrollment is available not only within the IBA walls, but also relevant for entering other universities in Denmark.

In addition to Management Management, the Academy offers 3 more programs of the AP level:

  • multimedia design and communication (75 000 DKK per year of study);
  • entrepreneurship and design management (cost of one academic year 75 000 DKK);
  • financial management (year of study will cost 68 000 DKK).

All these courses also last 2 years and carry the same possibilities as the “Management Management”. Their significant difference is the teaching of all disciplines exclusively in Danish.

International Trade and Marketing Management

The course lasts a year and a half: semesters start in January and August, and applications for entry to foreign citizens can be submitted until October and March, respectively. The cost of training in the International Business Academy for this program is 68 000 DKK per year, and the basis for enrollment is the completed course "Management of Marketing" level AP. If there is no AP diploma, then it is possible to proceed on the basis of documents about the education already received, but only under the condition of compulsory compliance with the requirements to the mathematical or economic level plus the requirements regarding knowledge of English.

During their studies, students learn to understand all aspects of international trade:

  • the economy;
  • international marketing;
  • jurisprudence and management;
  • business scaling;
  • cooperation between corporations and enterprises;
  • business models, strategic processes and customer focus;
  • analysis of potential risks and points of development of companies.

The learning process is very diverse: group work, guest lectures and cases from businessmen, preparation of presentations and projects, visits to local production, visits to company offices. Thanks to constant interaction with functioning businesses, contacts with entrepreneurs, participation in international exchange projects during training and internships, 12-week practice in real enterprises, many graduates complete the course already having job offers in international companies.

Opportunities to find a job after successfully completing the curriculum are extensive and depend on the preferences and inclinations of the graduate — you can begin to build a career in marketing, sales, and export.

Euro-Asian Business Management

A four-year program of study that will interest students who want to spend 2 years in China (Shanghai University of Economics and Finance) and as a result receive a double degree in business management. This course opens up a huge range of opportunities for students: you can study marketing, management, communication in a global context, and also understand the features of the linguistic, cultural, ethical and psychological aspects of building a business with China. Such knowledge and skills will become a powerful competitive advantage for the graduate in the labor market.

For the first 2 years, students study at IBA, and 2 subsequent students at the University of Shanghai, where classes are focused on studying business-related subjects and Chinese. After successful completion of the program, they receive 2 diplomas at the same time:

  • AP degree in marketing management by the Academy;
  • bachelor's degree in business management from a Shanghai partner.

Training begins in August and will cost 68 000 DKK per year (plus an additional 19 300DKK for each year of study in China).

International Trade and Marketing / Business Management and Marketing

This program combines full-time undergraduate education in international trade and marketing management at IBA, as well as e-online education in business management and marketing at Leeds Beckett University (United Kingdom). Already after 3 semesters, graduates receive 2 bachelor's degrees, opening the door to the world of sales, marketing, and export.

The course starts in January and August - you need to have time to apply for membership until October and March, respectively. The cost of the International Business Academy of the school year for this program is 68 000 DKK.

In both educational institutions disciplines related to the international context will be taught:

  • sales;
  • marketing;
  • legislative framework;
  • management.

All courses, exams are in English. During the 12-week practice at the enterprises, when the graduation project is being prepared, a mentor and a supervisor are constantly in touch with the students, helping to resolve all issues. Students can also consult with career advisors from the academy, get hints about choosing a company (to go on probation where they can fully realize their potential, show strengths, ambitions). IBA has built a powerful network of contacts in the business world both inside Denmark and far beyond its borders, thanks to which academy students are in great demand among entrepreneurs, often receive an invitation to take a permanent place in the companies where they underwent internships.

Upon completion of the program, the graduate can immediately be enrolled in the IBA master's program.

International Business is an online training program jointly developed by the IBA Academy and the English University Leeds Beckett. Training within its framework starts in February and September, and the same months are deadlines for submitting documents for admission.

Master's

The Academy offers 3 training options - a full day, in the form of personal meetings with teachers, as well as online study of disciplines, so that even a top manager, who already has a family, can allocate time to improve their skills.

To obtain a master's degree in IBA, you need to choose one of three programs:

  • Executive MBA (EMBA);
  • Master of Science in International Business (MSc);
  • Master of Administration in General Management (MBA).

Executive MBA (EMBA)

The program starts in September, you need to have time to submit your application for membership until August. Enrollment takes place on the basis of a bachelor's degree in business or economics. The total cost at the International Business Academy of the entire EMBA course is 149 000 DKK (the sum includes the payment of all 6 semesters and the registration fee).

Developed by IBA in cooperation with Coventry University Business School in the UK, the course lasts 2 years and includes the study of subjects plus the writing of the final dissertation. Classes are built on a combination of one-on-one meetings with a teacher and independent learning in an online format, which in itself presents a great challenge. The program consists of six semesters for 10-12 weeks each, includes 9 modules and a scientific dissertation work.

Everything in the classroom is aimed at ensuring that the top manager or owner of the company is perfectly oriented in the main components of successful business development of any scale:

  • strategic planning;
  • issues of formal and informal leadership;
  • effective management of human and economic resources of the company.

Master of Science in International Business (MSc)

The program "Master of Science in International Business" was developed by the Academy along with the British School of Coventry University Business School and involves 12 months of full-time full-time studies. The cost of training in the International Business Academy under the MSc program is 96 000 DKK. The course starts in September, you can submit your application until April.

All lessons, teaching, practice and exams are in English. Classroom classes are constantly alternated with visits to existing enterprises, finding optimal solutions for real business problems, participation in competitions and business events. In addition to studying compulsory subjects, MSc also includes writing and defending the final dissertation work.

During classes, students train:

  • think strategically;
  • comprehensively explore issues and challenges;
  • effectively build a variety of communication processes in the company;
  • heartfelt assess the strengths, skills, intrinsic motivation and development potential of candidates for certain positions.

After the successful completion of the program, graduates can easily get a job in international enterprises as middle and upper middle managers, especially hr specialists. Also, a master's degree allows you to continue academic research already at the level of Doctor of Business Administration or PhD.

Master of Administration in General Management (MBA)

The program is suitable for those who have managerial experience and who want to improve their skills to work in international corporations. The course was developed in collaboration with Coventry University Business School, which includes 3 full-time semesters for students who have already managed to defend a bachelor's degree.

The cost of training in the International Business Academy for this program is 95 000 DKK for all 12 months. This amount includes all administrative expenses, class fees and exams.

The lessons are focused on helping students understand strategic management, all external and internal factors that influence the company's success, its position in the market and competitiveness. After successfully passing the exams and defending a thesis, graduates usually build a career in the following areas:

  • consulting;
  • marketing;
  • financial management;
  • human resource management.

International IBA relations, the prestige of Coventry University, and real internships at enterprises are constantly proving their effectiveness: 95% of yesterday's MBA students are employed in eminent companies or continue their research activities.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Immediately after enrollment, it is recommended to apply for housing searches through the specialized organization StudentKolding. It is the one who helps the newcomers to stay in student apartments based on the waiting list (therefore, the International Business Academy advises to apply immediately, as soon as the applicant has found out that he has been accepted into the university, this will increase the chances of choosing his own home from more offers).

Usually foreign applicants settle earlier than their classmates from Denmark. All apartments have their own bathroom and the necessary minimum of household appliances (refrigerator, stove for cooking), while they are deprived of furniture. You can look for a house and yourself in the private sector of Kolding.

With regards to paying for housing, it is important to know that in Denmark money for rent is paid in advance at the very beginning of the month. If the payment was not made on the day specified in the invoice, then you will have to pay a penalty for the delay. When introducing a normal practice, it is considered to ask the tenant to deposit an amount of a three-month rental price of an apartment as a kind of deposit. Most often, the average rent for water and heating (but never for electricity) is already included in the rental price. For exceeding the average limits you will pay separately.

As for food, there are no full or half board options at the academy: there is a canteen with a wide choice of dishes and a daily buffet in the IBA area.

Activities International Business Academy (IBA)

The IBA Student Life organization, which consists of volunteers who plan weekly activities and major holidays in three directions, is responsible for all the social activity of the students:

  • sport;
  • culture;
  • night life.

Between classes there is an opportunity to play a game of billiards, and in order to thoroughly take care of your health, weekly sports activities are provided, including the opportunity to play football or volleyball. For the purpose of cultural development, movie evenings, days of board games are organized, participation in all cultural events that take place in Kolding and beyond (for example, Copenhagen is two hours away) is organized. For lovers of night time rest (not at the expense of studies!), The Crawl pub, Friday bar, parties are organized in IBA and in the clubs of the city. IBA Student Life is making efforts to ensure that international integration, familiarity with the culture and traditions of different countries and the establishment of friendly relations take place as easily and comfortably as possible, so thematic holidays are welcome here - for example, Chinese New Year.

Students can follow all cultural entertainment events in a convenient format through a special public Facebook page, so there are very few chances to miss the holiday. With any questions and suggestions, anyone can contact a student advisor, always ready to listen and help.

Among the 60,000 residents of the city, in addition to IBA students, there are 3,000 students - they make the atmosphere of the city very pleasant: there are many places to eat, have fun and relax, and cultural and social events are often organized, supported by the authorities.

Admission dates and extra charges

The start of study depends on the specific course where the applicant plans to enter. The standard version, which is relevant for most programs, implies the beginning of the fall semester from September, and the winter one, mostly from January. Some courses, such as E-BA International Business, are available to students from the first days of February. It is important to bear in mind that the acceptance of documents for all applicants who are not citizens of EU countries and Denmark itself always ends earlier:

If an entrant chooses “Eurasian Business Management”, you will additionally need to pay 19300DKK for each year of your stay in Shanghai.
