  • Location: Indian Springs, Alabama, USA
  • Language of instruction: English
  • Number of students: 315 people.

The school is located 15 miles south of Birmingham, Alabama, a prosperous city and innovation center, the center of world-class cultural institutions. The Indian Springs School was founded in 1952, and for the first 20 years, it was headed by progressive teacher Dr. Louis E. "Doc" Armstrong. The Indian Springs school pedagogical attitudes are rooted in John Dewey's progressive educational philosophy, as well as the expansive vision of American society and democracy. The mission of an educational institution is to develop in students a love of learning, creativity, to form a sense of integrity, moral stamina, a citizen's ethics based on participation, respect for individuality, independent thinking.

Student-oriented learning covers classroom and extra-curricular activities that are paying off: the school choir is known domestically and abroad thanks to participating in concerts around the world, and the first football team in Alabama reflects the school values of teamwork and innovation. From opening a school for co-ed students to a renewed commitment to building new hostels in 2006, Indian Springs continues to translate its mission into reality. Success is measured by the success of graduates, of whom there are already more than 2,000 today, by the level of support from parents and former students: thanks to them, Indian Springs School has built modern classrooms equipped for virtual education.
