Description of Heathfield School

Private School Heathfield School is deservedly considered one of the best female boarding schools in the UK. It was founded in 1899 by the merger of two neighboring educational institutions and today provides quality educational programs for girls aged 11 to 18 years.

The motto of Heathfield School is the phrase "The merits of one is an honour for all": any manifestations of talents and abilities, any initiatives and aspirations are encouraged here. Every year more than 200 thousand pounds sterling is allocated for scholarships to successful schoolgirls (in academic, creative or sports environment)!

Special support is provided for foreign schoolgirls: a special group of employees assists them in acclimatization to new conditions, language, culture and the academic environment (sometimes this course starts even before arrival in school). It is taught a supporting English course ("English as a Foreign Language", EFL), designed in a short time to improve all the basic language skills. In addition, in the process of studying schoolgirls can prepare for the IELTS and Cambridge EFL examinations.

A-level

The program is designed for high school students 16-18 years old and involves studying for 2 academic years. This is an effective pre-university course - in the UK the A-level program is considered the most popular on the Sixth Form.

Subjects are studied very little - 4-5 in the first year and 3-4 in the second (selected from the first year), and they are selected directly by the student. This makes it possible to formally prepare for the desired faculty, to tighten knowledge of the most priority disciplines. The A-level program is considered complex, in-depth and thorough - but the results are worth it: the A-level certificate frees students from even entrance examinations and tests of the most prestigious and ranking universities.

Accommodation, meals, prices

There are several residences on the campus of Heathfield School, each of which bears the proud name of a woman who left a mark in the history of the institution: Austen, de Valois, Seacole and Somerville. The houses are managed by the Housemistress and her assistants: they monitor cleanliness, discipline and order, look after the girls around the clock and are always ready to help them anyway.

Each room is quite spacious, includes all the necessary equipment (including a wash basin, showers and toilets in sufficient numbers are located on the floors).

For senior pupils a separate residence is provided - they are given a higher level of independence. They live in private bedrooms, can freely use common kitchens, plan their own leisure and free time independently: this helps girls to prepare for an adult independent life, to learn how to serve themselves and distribute their time. Often senior pupils take patronage over younger students, help them to get used and to succeed in all spheres of school life.

There is a spacious common dining room for full board meals for the students: the girls gather here three times a day. A separate diet is provided to students who follow medical, national or religious dietary prescriptions.

Two qualified nurses are on duty at Heathfield School around the clock, twice a week the campus is visited by a therapist, to which everyone can pre-register.
