FLS is America's largest network of language schools with extensive student experience and excellent learning outcomes. For more than three decades, the institution has offered programs that encourage students to succeed. Citrus College was founded in 1915 and is one of the oldest in California. Graduates enter prestigious educational institutions - UCLA and UC Berkeley, receive a degree that will help them during employment abroad. The old town of Glendora, where the educational institution is located, provides many opportunities for shopping, visiting local cafes.

FLS offers a great way to practice new English skills while immersed in American culture and volunteer at local volunteer, community service centers. They will join other FLS students while participating in charity projects.

Academic English (25 hours / week) - from 15 l.

Academic English offers the fastest way to develop language skills. It includes 6 hours of lessons per day: basic lessons, 2 optional classes, 1 hour of preparation for testing the premium class, daily academic seminar. Designed for students planning to enter an American college or university, the program is suitable for any student who is interested in mastering the English language as quickly as possible, paying special attention to the development of speaking, the practice of speaking skills.

Intensive English (30 hours / week)

Intensive English Program is the most popular program, including 30 lessons per week from qualified native speakers. It offers a comprehensive approach to learning English, includes integrated basic lessons at one of nine FLS levels, an optional lesson covering a specific skill or topic, an academic seminar. The course focuses on speaking: young people practice speaking skills, regularly receiving recommendations from their teacher.

General English (20 hours / week)

The General English program combines core classes with various academic and non-formal lessons, allowing you to take English knowledge to a new level. Academic seminars include pronunciation work, discussion clubs, homework help. The course will allow you to develop knowledge of English quickly, mastering a large number of practical skills and at the same time enjoying your stay in a beautiful California town. The program pays special attention to speaking: students will practice speaking skills under the supervision of an experienced teacher, will receive personal counseling and academic assistance.

Vacation English (15 hours / week)

The English Vacation Program offers basic language instruction in a relaxed atmosphere. Developing linguistic skills, students explore the rich cultural opportunities of the city.

TOEFL Preparation

International students often face serious problems when entering American colleges or universities, including the need to be fluent in English, and show high marks on standard tests. The FLS TOEFL Exam Preparation Program is specifically designed to give you the edge on taking the most common language exam in US schools.

The course includes 36 lessons led by a teacher: 18 lessons of comprehensive training to improve English skills + 12 lessons on specific strategies, TOEFL skills + 6 lessons of academic seminars of additional language practice, skills development. Young people work with an experienced instructor, improve TOEFL skills for passing tasks in reading, writing, listening, speaking. Practical exams allow instructors to analyze students' abilities and introduce students to the format and testing strategies.

Participants in the TOEFL program must have a good command of English (above average).

Accommodation, meals, prices

Located within easy reach of all of Southern California’s biggest attractions, the Glendora Hotel is a convenient base for a range of excursions that allow students to travel from the Malibu beaches to the ski slopes.

Participants are housed in carefully selected families and explore the American way of life. Accommodation includes:

  • Two meals a day on weekdays, brunch on Saturdays, lunch + dinner on Sundays
  • Roundtrip airport transfer from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Note: single room may not be available from July to August.
