Description of Rutgers University Embassy Summer Camp

Embasi Rutgers University Summer School on the territory of the sports campus is an excellent opportunity to combine the academic program with active rest. To study for summer courses in Rutgers University students are invited 12 - 17 years.

Summer courses take place near New York. The programs allow students to visit two American metropolises for the price of one. On excursions and on trips the active language practice is provided. The entertainment program in the summer school is of a learning character.

Embassy Summer: English style in training

Want to speak and think in English? At Embassy Summer school all conditions are created to ensure that students, regardless of the level of basic knowledge, could feel communicative freedom in the English-speaking environment.

The training purpose:

  • mastering the spoken language;
  • The perception of English as a native language.

Methods of teaching:

  • trainings and exercises for the improvement of oral speech;
  • tasks for forming listening skills.

School structure

The school concept is the creation of a favorable language environment, so in the first lesson all students perform a complex test task, which includes:

  • interview;
  • written test;
  • oral questioning for vocabulary definition.

Based on the results obtained, groups are formed on a five-point scale, ranging from "0" (Beginner) to "5" (Advanced). The number of students in each does not exceed 15 people.

The pride of Embassy Summer is its teachers. The pedagogical team is a team of qualified teachers. Director of training programs Director of Studies directs the work of the school and monitors the implementation of the training program.

The educational process

The effectiveness of teaching at Embassy Summer directly depends on the competent organization of the educational process. The training program is designed for 15 teaching hours per week (daily load is 4 hours).

In the classroom, students use special literature and teaching aids. In order to improve the perception of the material, the classrooms are equipped with modern software, video and audio equipment, office equipment.

The main block of the curriculum starts from the beginning of the calendar week (if it coincides with the state holiday - from the next day). The opening is on Sunday.

Culture Club: cultural environment

"It is impossible to learn a language without knowing the history and culture of the people" - this motto is promoted in Embassy Summer. Becoming a member of the Cultural Club Culture Club students have the opportunity to come into contact with the cultural heritage of England:

  • take part in excursions and scientific disputes;
  • to check in practice the knowledge of Shakespeare's literary masterpieces.

Learning a language amidst acquaintance with the culture of England creates conditions not only for securing the skills obtained in training classes, but also for shaping the freedom of communication in the new Language environment.

Trinity Exam: language competence test

The most exciting completion of any training is the exam.

The students of the Embassy Summer school in England can pass it on the basis of Trinity College. Examination requirements are compiled for each level individually, so you can test your knowledge and beginners "English", and students who claim to confirm the professional level.

The assessment of knowledge is based on a 12-point system, which allows you to determine the competence of students as objectively as possible.

For those who still doubt their success, preparatory courses are open.

In order to become a participant in the examination tests, it is necessary to issue a preliminary application indicating the level to be defended. This can be done by online booking, taking into account that the deadline is May 30.

During the test, the examiner communicates with each student individually, assessing the skills of speaking and listening.

The final grade is equally accepted by all educational institutions within the European Union, as it is derived in accordance with Standard CEFR (Common European Frame of Reference).

Price: $ 1325 per week (with accommodation in the residence, room with separate bath).

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students of summer courses are offered accommodation in Woodward Hall. A hostel apartment house with shared bathrooms and living rooms for 6 air-conditioned rooms is modern, comfortable and has everything necessary for comfortable living. Each apartment has a refrigerator, microwave oven. The food of the students is organized according to the scheme of the full board. The hostel is guarded around the clock.

Travel time to major airports and train stations

From Newark airport (EWR) to school 20 minutes drive from the airport. John Kennedy (JFK) - 50 minutes.

English classes, activities (including board games and creative activities), accommodation, meals (three times a day, during tours are given a dry ration), mandatory Excursions - all this is already included in the course price:

During the day, students at school can play sports (football, basketball, volleyball, including beach, swimming), compete in billiards, participate in the contest "American Idol". In the evening, show programs and discos are offered to them.

The excursion block of the course includes one day excursion and two half-day weekly. During these students can see the Statue of Liberty, visit the Central Park, numerous museums, shopping centers in New York.
