Pre-school education at El Limonar includes a kindergarten for young students 3-4 years old and preparation for admission to first grade. The curriculum is based on the UK national curriculum and includes seven areas of study:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Physical development
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Literacy
  • Maths
  • Understanding of the world
  • Expressive art and design.

The early years of the British curriculum are based on 4 aspects, which makes it so effective:

  • The child as a person whose needs are taken into account and satisfied
  • Positive outlook and respectful relationships - cultural communication between parents and staff
  • Optimal environment for children: they learn through the game format in the classroom or on open street areas
  • Education and development.

Junior School

  • Age: 5-11 years old
  • Dates: September-July
  • Duration: 5-6 years.

Primary school education provides children and schoolchildren with important skills and attitudes that prepare students well for later life. ELIS Villamartin offers a balanced and rich curriculum for primary school students, which corresponds to two points:

  • Preparing students for schooling, obtaining skills necessary in further school life
  • Creation of conditions for moral, cultural and physical development at school.

Starting from the age of 5, a third language of your choice is added to the main training program, which is available in English and Spanish, it can be French, German or Chinese.

For students whose English is not their native language, in parallel with the main course, there is an annual English language study program aimed at improving the level of knowledge. Students from 1-4 years of study will take daily from two or more intensive English and mathematics lessons in small groups, separately from the main class.

secondary school

  • Age: 12-16 years old
  • Dates: September-July
  • Duration: 5-6 years.

The middle school program at El Limonar follows the national educational program of Britain and the Ministry of Spain: up to the 11th grade, the daily curriculum includes 80% of subjects in English and 20% in Spanish.

From the 7th to the 9th year of study, a third foreign language (French, German or Chinese) is added to the compulsory program. The 10th and 11th year of study takes place in high school under the IGCSE program in combination with the Spanish part of the program.

For foreign students who are not confident enough in English, additional language courses are available, which can last from a semester to a whole year. An intensive study program will allow them to raise their linguistic competency to the level necessary for training in a standard course.

One-time additional English courses are available from the 7th year of study: the first three months they pass in intensive mode.

In the final of high school, students receive a double qualification: the British IGCSE and the Spanish certificate "Compulsory secondary education graduate."
