Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

In order to become a student of the Czech Technical University, you need to take several consecutive steps.

  • The first step in the enrollment process will be the procedure for confirming the diploma of your country. To do this, you need to submit to the city of Prague a document on education, which marks the successes of previous years of study.
  • After that, the entrants undergo special courses to prepare for special exams. The Czech education system differs significantly from the educational processes of other countries, therefore at the finish of the preparatory educational students pass necessarily examinations in biology, English, geography and chemistry. A strict bureaucratic procedure will be able to be circumvented only by those applicants who have graduated from a technical school or college and in total have 13 years of academic experience. To the certificate must attach an extract with estimates for 4 years before release.
  • Those who wish to become a master of a master's degree must pass the procedure of nostrification. It consists in the mechanism for confirming the bachelor's degree. After the successful completion of this process, the entrant is sent for exams. Each faculty puts forward its own requirements here. Since ČVUT has a technical focus, it will be necessary to pass examinations in mathematical disciplines and physics, as well as knowledge of the English language.
  • As for teaching, the educational process takes place here in two languages: Czech and English. It is worth noting that those who receive knowledge using the Czech language are educated for free. The rest is expected to be paid annually. In the admissions office it is necessary to provide certificates confirming the required level of proficiency in the Czech language. Another option is to show your knowledge directly in ČVUT. You can also take one-year language courses worth € 3,000.
  • A part of applicants, wishing to learn using English, provides a certificate confirming the necessary level of possession.

Documents are accepted until the end of March. More exact dates can be found on the official website, as different faculties exhibit different terms.

How much is the tuition fee?

In the Czech Republic, all higher education institutions with state ownership give educational services free of charge (only in those courses taught in Czech language). Obtaining knowledge in English will cost an amount equivalent to 3,000 euros. Quite a large part of the student's financial resources will be spent on rental housing. The renting of a dorm room will cost about 140 euros per month. If you focus on an apartment, then in Prague it will cost about 450 euros. The food will be about 250 euros per month. The bonus provided by the university can include a 50 percent discount on travel in public transport and preferential visits to places such as a museum, a cinema and a sports complex.

With excellent academic achievement, students have the opportunity to receive a scholarship. The university itself does not appoint scholarships and grants, but actively cooperates with dozens of educational funds. Scholarship amounts reach 500 euros per month.

Also ČVUT actively cooperates with other universities in student exchange programs. Everyone can go to increase their knowledge in another country and receive 400 euro scholarships monthly.
