Central Methodist University (CMU) is a private university in Missouri with a strong association with the United Methodist Church.

The institution was founded in 1853-1854 as Central College, which accepted about 100 people for the first year of study. For a hundred years, the university has developed in all directions: the campus has been increased, the professorial staff has been multiplied, educational and extracurricular programs have been supplemented. At the moment, about 1,000 bachelors and masters study on campus, and more than 4,000 students attend the college of postgraduate education.

Accommodation, meals, prices

On campus there are several large residential buildings with (mainly) separate accommodation for women and men:

  • Halt Hall is a four-storey women's hostel, designed to accommodate 230 people.
  • Woodward Hall is a residential building for 120 male students, having three floors.
  • Howard-Payne Hall – five floors with rooms and common areas for joint living.
  • Burford Hall is a four-story men's dormitory with a capacity of about 100 students.
  • McMurry Hall is a five-storey residential building for cohabitation of elders.

Each room in the dormitories is double, equipped with the necessary furniture for comfortable living of students and storage of their belongings. Common in the buildings are kitchens, bathrooms and toilets, laundry rooms, recreation and self-study areas.

On campus there is a large dining room, where breakfasts, lunches and dinners are organized according to meal plans. Students visit the canteen according to a strict schedule. There is also a small café on site where students can buy drinks, snacks, sweets and pastries.

Student-athletes are provided with packed lunches during trips to competitions: these are containers with sandwiches, muffins, salads, vegetables and fruits.

The cost of a room and meals on average will cost a student $ 8700 per year. Meal plans are paid for the semester – $ 2200.

Activities Central Methodist University

The university has a well-developed sports direction of extracurricular activities. In the game and gyms, trainings in several sports are organized:

The university is located on an area of 55 acres in Fayette, Missouri. The area where the campus is located was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The university is surrounded by cozy quarters of small residential buildings, grocery stores, parks and squares.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Requirements for future bachelors:

  • The average school score is 2.5 (3.5 for specialties of medicine),
  • Cumulative ACT score of 18 (24 for specialties of medicine) or SAT 960,
  • Paid deposit – 100-200$.

Masters need to provide a diploma of completion of the bachelor's program, several letters of recommendation, confirmation of work experience.

International students should be provided with TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo tests to confirm the level of English proficiency, financial documents, two letters of recommendation.

You can enroll in CMU before the start of any of the semesters.
