Enrolment requirements in English secondary schools in Spain
All secondary schools in Spain hold Open Days or invite interested parents to small excursions around the school, which take place at a strictly appointed time once a week or can be held by private arrangement. After getting acquainted with the school, the director, as a rule, conducts a small interview with both the child himself and his parents. You need to prepare for this stage and prepare all the necessary information in advance.
Although most private schools in Spain do not conduct selection on a competitive basis, the foreign student must meet the minimum knowledge criteria required to study with his future classmates. In stronger schools, such requirements are quite high, but more often they relate only to English. After all, if the child owns it sufficiently, it will not be so difficult to pull up other items.
Upon admission to secondary or high school, a teenager may be asked to take an exam in English and/or subjects in which he wants to specialize when studying at A-level or IGCSE levels.
If your child has insufficient knowledge of English or Spanish, most English schools in Spain will offer him additional classes in groups of 1 to 5 people. So, the schools of the famous SEK network provide a more extensive program "Language and cultural immersion for foreign students", which, by the way, can be taken for only six months or a year, and then return to your country.
