The International IB School Brookes Moscow has successfully passed accreditation under the IB Preschool and Primary School Program (PYP) and is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for all 3 programs (PYP, MYP and DP) since June 2020.
Charlie King, Director of Brookes International IB Schools in Moscow and St. Petersburg, thanked the PYP Coordinator Mrs. Sandy Venter, in charge of the school's accreditation process, all teachers and administrative staff, students and their parents for their contribution to obtaining authorization.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma is recognized in 125 countries around the world, including universities such as Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Sorbonne, Stanford, Oxford, Princeton, Imperial College London, National University of Singapore and other leading universities in the world.
The PYP program is designed for students aged 3 to 12. She is focused on raising the child as a researcher - both in the classroom and in the outside world. The program is based on six universal interdisciplinary topics, which are studied using the knowledge and skills acquired in six subject areas, as well as interdisciplinary skills and abilities. Much attention is paid to research activities. The PYP is flexible enough to accommodate most national or local curriculum requirements and provides students with an excellent opportunity to prepare for their International Baccalaureate (IB) basic high school program.
The International Baccalaureate Organization was founded in 1968 in Switzerland with the support of UNESCO. The main task of this program is to educate curious, comprehensively developed and self-confident young people who are able to solve the tasks assigned to them, apply the knowledge gained in practice in difficult and unpredictable situations and change the world for the better.
