Accommodation, meals, prices

Five days a week, students live in a comfortable school residence (separate buildings for boys and girls): they are bright, fairly spacious rooms. There is a boarding meal in the school cafeteria. For the weekend (from friday evening to sunday evening) students go to the host families, where they are also provided with comfortable and safe boarding accommodation.

A senior teacher (Housemaster) and his assistants live in the houses together with the students of Sligo Grammar School: they monitor the observance of cleanliness, order and discipline, ensure the complete safety of students, help them in solving domestic and administrative issues.

Activities Sligo Grammar Private School

Traditionally, as in most British schools, the school pays great attention to the sport and physical development of students. All conditions (grounds, equipment, coaches and instructors) are provided for all kinds of sports and outdoor activities:

A strong tradition of creating successful rugby teams (boys) and field hockey (girls), a strong and athletics team - the guys have repeatedly successfully competed in regional and national competitions, won and took prizes. Due to the successful geographical location and proximity of the river, there are opportunities for active swimming and rowing, trekking (hiking, including cross country). On weekends, long hikes are often arranged around the neighbourhood - foot and bike.

Other areas (creative and musical) are given no less attention. Music classes provide opportunities for vocal lessons, games on various musical instruments (a violin, a piano, a saxophone, a guitar; and about one in four pupils are playing at a fairly high level); choreographic classes are also well equipped. There are studios for acting and drama, drawing, classes for oratory. The Sligo Grammar School choir and drama troupe are known far beyond the school and their region. Twice a year there are competitions of oratory and dispute, where everyone can express themselves.

Facilities and equipment at Sligo Grammar Private School

The Sligo Grammar School campus has everything that children can need for studying, living and relaxing. For students, functional scientific laboratories for practical studies (natural sciences), a multimedia center and a computer room, an extensive library and a language lab were prepared. There are a field for rugby and hockey, basketball courts, tennis courts, play areas on the territory . A separate building is built with music studios, handicraft and creative workshops, a special architectural bureau, as well as a separate, modern sports and cultural complex.
