One of the features of the medical school is the possibility of clinical work from the first week of education: on average, a student spends 25% of study time in practical work with patients, communicating with practitioners in surgical departments, hospital wards. Such an approach greatly increases the effectiveness of education: by the third year a student spends up to half of his studies in practice, participating in clinical symposia, where scientists, medical practitioners and patients meet. Graduates receive degrees:

Brighton and Sussex Medical School does not practice accelerated education for admission to graduate school, but the school provides an opportunity for in-depth study of subjects during the 6-year course (intercalated undergraduate program) at the MSc level. In addition, BSMS students may receive an intercalated degree from another university and return to complete the medical course at Brighton and Sussex.
