Wittenborg University is a private Dutch university: it was founded in 1987 in Deventer, and in 2010 moved to Apeldoorn and now occupies a modern, new and spacious building. The university has received accreditation of state bodies, and in the list of the best local universities takes an honorable 5th place. Annually, a lot of students come here: a total of about 400 people are studying there, representing 50 countries. The goal of the university is to develop creative approach to business, innovative thinking, readiness to perceive and introduce new technologies in students. All classes are conducted in English: the programs are harmoniously divided into theoretical and practical blocks (for 6 weeks each), which conclude with profile exams. Such an integrated approach gives an excellent result: the university produces experienced and qualified professionals valuable in the international labour market. Especially convenient is the fact that you can start studying for 6 dates throughout the year, the beginning of the course is not tied to one month (for example, by the beginning of September).

Separately it is worth noting the wide-ranging cooperation of the university with colleagues from Europe and Great Britain: for example, the master's program was developed together with the world-famous Brighton, which allows its graduates to receive a double diploma indicating both universities. The teaching staff of Wittenborg University consists of professional educators with direct experience in relevant fields: they represent 10 countries of the world, together with students develop and launch their own business projects directly during educational process.

Undergraduate (IBA)

Bachelor's program (obtaining a profile diploma and degree), professional fields - business, management, tourism and hospitality. The duration of the studying is 3 years, for the beginning of the courses there are 6 dates for the year.

Minimum requirements: Diploma of secondary education / certificate + IELTS from 6.0.

Wittenborg University students have the opportunity to complete a combined course and receive a diploma with a dual specialization: International Hospitality (IBA Business Administration (Wittenborg University) + Bachelor of Arts (Brighton)). In this course, students spend the first year in the Netherlands, and the second in the country of choice (Spain, France, Germany), then studies in Germany or Britain and returns to the Netherlands to complete the program.

Also there is an excellent opportunity for those students who already have a bachelor's degree (3 years of study: they can get a second specialty in only 1-2 years).

There are two main directions of magistracy - hotel business and business.

Minimum requirements for applicants: bachelor's degree + work experience of at least 2 years + IELTS from 6.5 and above. The term of study varies from 12 (hospitality) to 18 months (business).

Available courses and specialties in the School of Hospitality are:

  • Management in the field of hotel business;
  • Management in the field of international tourism;
  • Management in the field of organization of international events.

Preparatory Master's programs

There are effective studying programs especially for international students who plan to enroll in Wittenborg University. First and foremost, of course, this greatly improves the knowledge of English and adapts to the local educational, university system. To enter the preparatory course, the student must provide an IELTS certificate of 5.0.

Preparing for a master's degree takes six months, after which the student gets the opportunity to obtain a master's degree and a degree in just 1 year.

PhD Program, Doctoral Program

  • The term of study is three years.

The three-year business administration program offers students part-time employment and the opportunity to combine their studies with work experience. The flexibility of the course is unique: the program is provided in a hybrid format with online and face-to-face classes that take place in Apeldoorn and once in Paris or Nantes, France. 

Through coursework over the course of 12 to 24 months of the program, participants develop advanced research competencies in management, allowing them to apply the knowledge and experience gained to their doctoral dissertation.

In three years of study, students will gain competitive knowledge to reach a new level of career path.

Summer School, Summer School

  • Dates - from July 16 to August 11,
  • The training period is two weeks.

From July 16 to August 11, the Wittenborg University Summer School holds two cohorts, each with its own theme. The first two-week shift of students will study intercultural communication and leadership, and the second will study digital marketing and communications. Within two weeks, students will gain an understanding of the basics of the topic under consideration, practical knowledge and skills, applied experience and the development of personal interests.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Wittenborg University pupils can live in the most convenient housing option: there is an opportunity to occupy a student house (for 5-6 people) or a dorm room, rent an apartment. All the options are chosen in such a way that the travel time to the educational building is not too long, so that the accommodation is not far from the university.

  • Spacebox. These are personal, fully equipped studios within walking distance from the educational building. The 18 square meters allocated for each student include a bedroom, a small living room, a working area, a bathroom and a kitchen.
  • The general student house is designed for 5-6 people: there are cozy bedrooms, private bathroom and toilet, shared kitchen and living room.
  • The total apartment is offered to 3-5 students: here you can also find a common kitchen, a drawing room and a bathroom, separate bedrooms for pupils.

Cost of living:

  • Spacebox: the first 5 months of residence are included in the total price, then from 129 / month;
  • Dormitory and common house: The first 5 months of living are included in the total cost, then from 290 (the cost can vary depending on the type of accommodation, comfort and distance from the academic building).

Activities Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences

Almost every week, the institution organizes thematic lectures with invited speakers-specialists in various fields. By visiting them, students will be able to broaden their horizons, learn new facts about the direction they are interested in and talk with experienced professionals. Educational excursions to partner organizations are also conducted on a regular basis, which help students learn more about their careers and provide an opportunity to receive an invitation to an internship.

Leisure on campus is completely subordinated to the interests of students - the main governing community organizes all events: from weekend parties and social activities to graduation parties and New Year's Eve celebrations. Facilities and equipment at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences

Dutch Apeldoorn is conveniently located in the heart of Europe, and the university is located near the city railway station: the road to Amsterdam is not more than an hour, and in 5 hours you can reach Berlin, Paris or London. On the basis of the university its own large research center is working: for example, very recently there were conducted large-scale studies on renewable energy sources, their introduction into small and medium-sized businesses.

  • study materials - from € 350 per year (depending on the chosen program);
  • medical Insurance - 250 euros for half a year, 500 euros for a year;
  • visa fees and university transfer fee - 650 euro;
  • deposit - 900-1500 euros (depending on the chosen program);
  • registration of entry documents;
  • air travel.

Enrolment process

Submission of the application is organized in an online format - this will be the first step to admission. Applicants need to provide the required documents and pay administrative fees, and then confirm their desire to study by responding to an official letter from the admissions committee. Arriving on campus, the new student is accommodated (in the residence or outside it), takes an orientation day and begins training.

Perspectives

The alumni community of the institution has several thousand successful specialists. Most students continue their education or start their career path within six months of graduation.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

For admission to undergraduate programs, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Diploma of complete secondary education with an evaluation transcript,
  • Certificate of English proficiency: IELTS from 6.0 or equivalent TOEFL / TOEIC,
  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit.

Future masters for enrollment must provide:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related specialization,
  • Certificate confirming the level of English: IELTS from 6.5 or equivalent,
  • Three years of work experience (only for Business Administration programs),
  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit.

Those wishing to study at the doctoral program must meet the requirements:

  • Master's degree or MBA,
  • At least five years of experience, including in a managerial position,
  • Age - from 25 years,
  • Proficiency in English is not lower than IELTS 6.5,
  • Citizenship or residence permit in the EU.

The Summer School has compiled the following criteria for the selection of students:

  • Registration letter of admission from the current school/university,
  • High school/university transcript showing a minimum level of English of 6.0,
  • A copy of the passport data page,
  • Introductory letter (no more than 300 words),
  • Parental consent form if the applicant is under 18 years old.

You need to apply for training during the summer holidays 6-8 weeks before the expected start of the course.

Scholarships Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences

The university provides a variety of options for financial support and scholarship awards. Some of them are:

  • Dutch scholarship: ten awards worth 5000 € for new potentially successful students,
  • Orange Tulip Scholarships for students from China, Indonesia, Russia, Brazil, Vietnam, Korea, Mexico,
  • Ten MBA scholarships (5000 € each) for students of the Business Administration program.

Financial support is provided to students in difficult life situations, it is a discount on tuition fees and is not paid in monetary terms.
