What you should pay attention to when choosing a hotel: 5 main features

What you should pay attention to when choosing a hotel: 5 main features

Choosing the right hotel in an unfamiliar place can be a real challenge for travelers! Even experienced tourists who have traveled to dozens of countries sometimes face a situation when the booked hotel does not live up to expectations. There are several important points that you should pay attention to when checking in so as not to spoil your vacation.

The deceptive appeal of the site

A hotel website design can be impressive, but it's important to focus not on images and design, but on meaningful information. Skilled travelers carefully analyze the data provided: the availability of an exact address, clear prices for accommodation, information about the possibility of checking in with pets, the availability of parking, and so on. Rich and detailed information about the hotel on the site is a good sign, and bright, but empty pages often hide unscrupulous owners.

Discrepancy between photos and reality

Images and videos on a hotel's website often look brighter and more attractive than they actually are, as part of a marketing strategy aimed at attracting the attention of customers. To get an objective view of the hotel, it is useful to use Google or Yandex maps, where you can view pictures uploaded by other users. Travelers also recommend using the Street View feature to see the exterior of the hotel and its surroundings.

The hotel does not answer the phone

Before booking a hotel room, it is important to call them, even if the booking is made online: in hotels with good service, the staff is always ready to answer questions from future guests and confirm the necessary information. If calls go unanswered, it may indicate poor quality of service or that the hotel does not exist at all.

Suspiciously low accommodation prices

You need to be careful when encountering surprisingly low room rates! This is especially true for booking through unknown sites. It's always a good idea to compare the prices of a given hotel with offers on other platforms: temptingly low prices can be a trap for scammers.

Constantly complaining about the same flaws in reviews

The general rule of avoiding hotels with bad reviews is known. But you especially need to be on the lookout if previous guests point out the same problems in reviews left at different times. From time to time, problems may arise in the operation of any hotel, but they should not become systematic.
