Foundation studies programme

UP Education, in collaboration with one of the world's most unusual and outstanding universities, Tasmanian, provides a number of intermediate programs for international students designed to ease their difficulties in moving from their home country to a foreign university.

One of these programs is basic – a direct path to the first year of undergraduate studies at UTAS or an equivalent university. The program is an intermediate stage for foreign students who would like to master a university undergraduate course, but do not yet fully meet the academic requirements or do not have a sufficient level of English.

It is a two-semester program, an alternative to the first year of undergraduate studies for students in need of enhanced English language training and academic support.

As part of the course, students, along with English, master the following skills:

  • Public speaking;
  • Academic speech and writing;
  • Academic ethics, including in terms of citation and borrowing;
  • + mathematics course.

The program is offered in several variants, including:

  • Arts;
  • Business and Economics;
  • Law;
  • Physical Sciences;
  • Science.

Within each option, students choose several other elective disciplines along with the compulsory courses.

International First Year Diploma

  • Age – 17+;

The international diploma of the first year of study is an alternative to the first year of undergraduate studies. This program is addressed to students who need academic support and assistance in learning English during the first year of study in the undergraduate program.

Within the framework of the program, training is conducted in one of two areas: "Business" or "Science".

In case of successful completion of the course program, students get the opportunity to enroll immediately in the second year of the Bachelor of Science in the following specialties:

Postgraduate Pathways

  • Age – 20+;
  • Duration – 1 year;

Postgraduate Pathways programs prepare foreign students for study, academic or professional careers. The college offers two programs that can be studied separately or in combination, depending on the level of academic performance and the degree of English proficiency. Upon completion of these programmes, the student (subject to achieving 50% of the total score in each subject) is automatically recognised as eligible for admission to the relevant postgraduate programme at the University of Tasmania.

In the event that a student has a bachelor's degree, but needs additional support in the field of English and improving academic skills, he can enroll in a 1-semester master's degree preparation program, after which he enters graduate school.

After completing the course, students can also upgrade to the Graduate Certificate in Business Studies program.
