Description of Radley College Summer Camp

Founded in 1847, Radley College is today one of the most prestigious schools for international students. The total area of ​​the territory reaches 800 acres - this locality is only 15 minutes drive from the historic center of Oxford. Students from all over the world come to college to study English in a comfortable and modern environment on a variety of programs and courses. Lessons are held in functionally equipped classrooms, as well as students visit a spacious dining room, designed like the famous Great Hall of Harry Potter, tennis courts, a variety of sports fields and playgrounds, a heated indoor swimming pool and a sports hall are engaged in their own school theater. The distance to London from the territory of Radley College is 107 kilometers, to the largest airports Heathrow and Gatwick - 81 and 142 kilometers respectively, to Stansted distance is 158 kilometers.

The program is available for booking to individual students, corporate or training groups.

15 academic sessions per week are held in small groups (up to 15 people each). A separate teacher of high qualification (ELF) works with the class, who has considerable experience working with foreign students. At the end of the course, students have the opportunity to take the classic Trinity exam and get a company certificate confirming the knowledge of the language.EXAMPLE OF COURSE PROGRAM

  • Day 1: arrival of students, welcome party Ice Breaker;
  • Day: sightseeing tour of London, cruise on the Thames (from 9 to 18 hours);
  • Day 3: academic classes + extra-curricular activities on campus organized by teachers, sports games;
  • Day 4: academic classes + excursion to Oxford, walking tour and sightseeing;
  • Day 5: academic classes + extra-curricular activities on campus organized by teachers, sports games;
  • Day 6: academic classes + extra-curricular activities on campus organized by teachers, sports games;
  • Day 7: academic classes + extra-curricular activities on campus organized by teachers, sports games.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Accommodation is organized on a full board basis, in comfortable and convenient conditions. Mostly these are separate rooms, bathrooms and toilets for students are common. Student residences are within walking distance of the academic building.

EXAMPLE OF THE SCHEDULE OF THE DAY

Classes for summer courses are held from Monday to Friday, three academic hours per day. Each lesson is divided into two blocks:

• Learning grammar, vocabulary, relevant exercises and practices

• Practice of oral speech, communication skills: use of gaming and role-playing techniques, interactive learning, attracting additional funds.

After classes, students can engage in one of the many types of leisure and entertainment: playing football or tennis, basketball, dancing, visiting creative studios and workshops. In their free time, students can participate in interesting and exciting activities, organized every day and evening by school teachers. In addition, for one week of stay in the camp one excursion for the whole day and one for a few hours are planned. For the whole day students go to London (the most popular excursion), for several hours trips are planned, for example, to Oxford.

Students also have the opportunity to take part in combined programs that, in addition to classes, include a large sports or excursion component:

Admission dates and extra charges

Transfer for groups:

  • Gatwick: (15-20 people) = 740 pounds, (21-30 people) = 800 pounds, (31-50 people) = 920 pounds

Individual transfer on request.

Also for one accompanying (for 15 students) a place with accommodation and meals is offered free of charge; 2 or more accompanying = 299 pounds each week. Single executive rooms for availability at the time of booking.
