Generative artificial intelligence and various AI-based chatbots have already had a huge impact on the field of education – and unfortunately or fortunately, their role in this field is only expected to increase. Arizona State University decided to use these technologies to its advantage and began collaborating with OpenAI, the company that created the most popular neural network, ChatGPT. What is the meaning of cooperation?
Exclusive Features
The partnership between OpenAI and the University of Arizona envisages that the university will have access to the advanced capabilities of ChatGPT Enterprise starting in February — they plan to integrate this tool into various aspects of the educational process: from teaching to conducting research and preparing term papers. The university's goal is to create an individualized electronic assistant for each student, with special attention paid to the areas of engineering and natural sciences (STEM).
However, the plans also extend to other areas of study: in particular, it is planned to develop AI avatars for students that will help them study specific disciplines, and on the basis of a neural network, they plan to create programs that teach the creation of poetic works based on knowledge of biology.
Do you think AI is still more of a help or hindrance to learning, constantly making it easier for students to do their jobs?
