Victoria International Ballet Academy is a boarding school in Ontario where students from all over the world can receive professional education in the field of choreography, as well as classical academic education.

The school bears the name of its founder, the Russian ballerina Victoria Mironova (Evdokimova). The actress graduated from the Russian Ballet Academy. More than 20 years Mironova was the ballerina of the Mikhailovsky Opera and Ballet Theater. In 2003, Viktoria Mironova moved to Canada, where she opened her ballet school. After another year, this educational institution was transformed into a unique private school for the country, combining a professional ballet institution and a general educational institution. Officially the school is registered by the Ministry of Education of the province of Ontario as the Academy of Science and Arts of Canada. Since 2012, ASAC has acquired its premises with spacious ballet classes, where international children are still studying today. In addition, the academy has transformed into a full-fledged private school with academic programs with an artistic bias - the professional school of fine arts and music with a vocal department were added to the specialization of ballets. 

Arts and Science Academy of Canada offers an intensive program of ballet, music, English language courses for local and foreign students, as well as interesting excursions to the outskirts of Toronto. In summer courses are organized in each school area, and children's camps run from 4 to 8 years old.

Since the International Academy of Arts and Sciences has a ministry registration, it has the right to grant its graduates diplomas of secondary education (Ontario Secondary School Diploma), which are listed on admission to any college or university around the world. In addition, students who pass the final exam for ballet, can receive a diploma of the Artist of the Ballet. It gives an additional advantage for further training and employment.

Main tasks of the course are the development of intellectual and physical aspects. So, educational process in ballet classes help from an early age to acquire an excellent posture, flexibility and strength, to instill in the child healthy habits and a little discipline of a restless and inquisitive mind.

The curriculum focuses on languages ​​(English and French) and mathematics. The knowledge of the Academy's students outstrips the analogous state program, especially in the field of mathematics.

From the 9th to the 12th grade, the students of the academy attend secondary school, where they study academic subjects (emphasis on mathematics, English and French) along with artistic ones: ballet, fine arts, vocal or music. The program for older children is strong, therefore 1-2 years ahead of state standards. This gives the academy students the opportunity to be fully armed by the time they enter the university.

Mentoring teachers, their active participation in the training of each student and a good physical load create the optimal environment for obtaining knowledge. In the academy, each of the senior teachers is a specialist in their field. Some of them also teach at the university, so they know about the latest requirements for applicants in universities in Canada, Europe, the United States and other countries.

Information on the success of schoolchildren and the level of preparation in choreography and artistic development to parents is reported weekly by the teacher. The course of the summer ballet school can be held by children from the age of 9 years. The program of ballet intensity includes master classes with famous international teachers and ballet stars. The educational program of the course consists of:

Stretching classes;

Classical ballet;

Repertoire;

Creating the program.

Schedule of the day:

  • 10:00 -10: 50 - stretching;
  • 11:00 -12: 30 - ballet technique;
  • 12:30 -13: 30 - lunch;
  • 13:30 -14: 30 - variations, character or modern dance;
  • 14: 30-15: 00 - break;
  • 15: 00-16: 30 - repertoire, duets, partnership, male technique, rehearsals for the final work.

At the weekend for international students will be organized entertainment trips to the center of Toronto, to Niagara Falls and other notable places in Canada.

In addition to the ballet lessons, a 3-week course of English as a foreign language (ESL) will work for all foreign students. Program participants will receive 20 hours of instruction on the campus, where they will train communication skills, develop vocabulary, develop grammar, pronunciation and writing skills.

  • Fashion designer;

Therefore, by the time of arrival, the children will already be able to learn the basics of several popular professions.

The music course program is formed from several directions: it's vocals and playing in an ensemble or in a school orchestra. For each of the directions such classical subjects as instrumental play (as a soloist and as an accompanist), theory, solfeggio, musical history are studied. From instruments, students can choose pianoforte, guitar, violin or flute.

The vocal is used for performing the variety, harmony, vocal performance, ability to keep on stage. In the ensemble from the 2nd to the 6th grade and in the school orchestra from the 6th to the 12th grades children are engaged under the guidance of a professional conductor and musician. The repertoire will include classical works, jazz and other popular compositions: for example, the theme from the film "Star Wars", "Pirates of the Caribbean", etc. In addition to above instruments, the orchestra can play the clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, etc.

Except in addition, twice a week for students organized on-site activities and excursions in Toronto. Here you can visit many great sights. For example, the CN Tower is the highest TV tower in the world (553 m) with high-speed elevators and a revolving restaurant on top; Osgood Hall Historic Court Building, Casa Loma's Neo-Gothic Mansion, Baldwin Staircase, which descends from the terrace of the post-glacial Iroquois Lake, and many others.

In order to enroll in the International Academy of Arts and Science of Canada, the child needs to collect the following package of documents:

  • The education certificate (certificate for high school students);
  • Student Academic Achievement Report;
  • Cover Letter;
  • Child photo;
  • A copy of the birth certificate or passport;
  • Two characteristics per child from teachers + letters of recommendation.

Also to the school administration with the above documents will be necessary to send a video to a ballet lesson applicant under the guidance of a teacher.
