St. Peter's ACHS College School is an independent Catholic school and boarding school for boys in grades 1-8. Since 1990, ACHS has offered a challenging academic program with small classes that combines religion, sports and a practical approach.

A unique program designed specifically for boys "to enjoy learning again" and allows students to progress at their own pace. The expanded curriculum covers and in many areas surpasses the Ontario Department of Education core curriculum.

  • St. Peter's believes in the concept of a healthy mind in a healthy body, and strives to ensure that all students exercise daily. Most sports activities take place during school hours so as not to interfere with extracurricular activities.
  • Students at the school can participate in hockey, ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, football, kayaking, canoeing, cycling, cross-country running, athletics, and golf.
  • St. Peter's also hosts and attends various sports tournaments and events throughout the school year.
  • The school house system is a means of encouraging students to take an active interest in school life through their participation in academic, sports, and creative activities. Each student is accepted as a member of one of the 4 houses and will remain in that house for the duration of their stay at St. Peter's ACHS College School. Everything that a student does while studying is important for the home. Points are earned by students in various areas of activity and are summed up at the end of the school year. The home with the most points will be awarded a championship plaque.
  • The school is promoting a system of rank leadership. Just as sports teams have captains and assistants, all students are encouraged to achieve a certain status. The rank system was created to help other students, staff and the school: it contributes to the development of high academic skills, leadership qualities. Ranks help school government, teach to help others.
  • Students in the school can participate or compete in hockey, ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, football, kayaking, canoeing, cycling, cross-country running, athletics, and golf.
  • St. Peter's hosts and attends a variety of sports tournaments and events throughout the school year.
  • Hockey camp, ball hockey league, sports and adventure camps are available.

  • Over the years, many graduates have achieved success and successfully transferred to high school. The success is due in part to the knowledge gained from the unique personalized program offered at ACHS St. Peter's School.
  • ACHS College School students are regularly tested: the assessment is based on various methods and observations. Parents and students receive a written assessment report at least three times a year. Parents will be aware of the assessments, personal interviews of children.
  • Educational group is very important at school. Grades 1-2 include no more than 15 students, 3-8 grades - no more than 20 students. The overall student to staff ratio is 10: 1. Students receive attention, support, individual instructions from teachers.

Facilities and equipment at St. Peter's ACHS College School

Situated on 6.7 acres, on a 27,000 square foot campus, the school includes:

  • Showers;
  • Residential area that can accommodate up to 40 students and residency full-time staff + 90-120 full-time students.

On the territory there are basketball courts, a baseball and football field, an obstacle course, a field for hockey.

The school is within walking distance of the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Libro sports complex, which the school will use for hockey and mini-football. Students have access to the pool at the Essex Recreational Complex.

ACHS St. Peter's pupils wear a school uniform: it includes summer and winter kits + full sports equipment.
