Review about St. Bede's Private School

My son studied at this school for 3 years. We entered the 11th grade. It was not very easy to enter. The first time after passing the test and interviewing with the director, we were told that the child's level of English was too weak and they would not be able to accept him. We managed to insist on a second interview, after which we were still offered a place with the obligatory condition that we take a certain number of additional hours in English. For additional English, I had to pay about 1,500 pounds per trimester, but after the first year at school, the level of the language really managed to increase significantly, and after a year and a half, additional lessons were canceled. My son liked school. Excellent attentive teachers, a large selection of sports and clubs. Technical disciplines, especially chemistry and mathematics, are well taught.

A 15-year-old child was sent to a camp at this school. We selected a camp with a smaller number of Russian-speaking children and the Smaps agency advised us this option. I want to thank Elena for the selection of the program. The child loved it! We took the English Plus program, which included 22 hours of English per week. The classes were not very large, about 12 people. They were divided into groups according to the results of the test, which was carried out before the race. At the end of the program, a certificate was issued with recommendations for improving the level.

A good option for those who want to get an art or music education. The school specializes in these areas. At A-level, you can take a photo, drama, design. You can even study ceramics! For those who are engaged in theatrical art, the school organizes preparation for auditions for scholarships.

In 2018, my two daughters, 13 and 15 years old, went here for a summer English program. This was their first independent trip to a camp abroad, we took 3 weeks. We were very worried about how everything would go. Bede's was recommended to us as a camp with good organization and an intensive program for learning English. There were indeed more English lessons here than in many other camps. But, as my daughters told me, the program was well balanced, the lessons were interesting, there were also a lot of excursions and activities. They liked England very much. They lived in triple rooms, there were no problems with food, although they missed soups)

We chose Bede's on the advice of our friends from England. The school is not very popular among foreign students, as it is not very close to London and does not advertise itself on the websites of agencies. At least, if our friends hadn't told us about it, we would hardly have known about it. Due to this, most of the children at school are local British schoolchildren. This was a big plus for us, since we initially wanted the child to immerse himself in the English-speaking environment as much as possible. After two years, I can say that the choice was really right. The school is wonderful, both in terms of the level of teaching and in terms of the attitude of teachers to children. Accommodation is a bit rustic, without frills. We also had to get used to food, but for us the priority was the curriculum and the attitude towards children. The problem with classmates arose only once, when they tried to tease the child, but the curator was able to quickly deal with it.
