Mount St Mary's College is a small private school of mixed type, located away from major cities, near the city of Sheffield in Derbyshire. The school has its history from the Immaculate Conception College at Spinhill, founded by the Jesuit Order in 1842. In 1939, the college acquired Barlboro Hall, an estate of the Elizabethan era, located about two miles from Spinhill - now it houses a kindergarten and Mount St. Mary's Elementary School. Until the 1970s, the school accepted only boys, but in 1979 the first enrollment of girls into classes with day stay took place.

Today, Mount St Mary's is a modern mixed-type educational institution with high academic performance, wide opportunities for the development of talents and aptitudes of students during extra-curricular time, and a comfortable and careful environment of stay.

Kindergarten - 3-6 years

Barlborough Hall School is a year-round kindergarten that prepares students for school in a stimulating environment. The curriculum includes literacy and numeracy lessons, music, French, swimming in the heated indoor pool, working with an ICT specialist. Classes are held in small groups and individually, providing each student with the attention, time, support needed to master the educational blocks at their own pace.

Primary school - 6-11 years old

The small primary school of Barlborough Hall conducts classes for up to 20 students: small sizes of classes allow teachers to understand the needs of students well. Barlborough Hall invites subject teachers to ensure maximum quality in the curriculum. The program includes French, singing, music. Extracurricular activities include cross-country walking, open-air lessons, games, sporting events, music concerts in the estate.

  • Barlborough Hall School is an elementary school that is part of Mount St Mary's College, located in a calm, beautiful village near the main college. In 2018, it entered the list of the best schools in Britain: it took 57th place in the national list and was recognized as the best independent primary school in Derbyshire.
