Lakehead University (abbreviated as LU) is an academic institution of state type in Canada that has been active in scientific activities since 1965. The university complex is located near Thunder Bay.

Lakehead University (LU) is a Canadian state university located in Ontario. The history of the university began in 1946: initially, the educational institution was referred to as the Technical Institute of Lakehead. The university itself received the status of a university only in 1965, after almost 20 years.

One of the main tasks of Lakehead University was to organize education for the indigenous people of Canada, therefore, a large number of such students study here today.
