  • Location: France, Paris
  • Age of students: 17+
  • Number of students: 500

It was founded in 1948 as a place where civil servants would be educated and trained for un structures and the new French administration with the participation of Albert de Joffre de la Pradel, one of the most respected professors of international law of the time. At first, he did not enjoy financial support, using the lecture halls of the Catholic Institute for classes. The first classes were conducted by volunteers free of charge.

The respect that the figure of de la Pradel evoked, as well as a trickle of financial support, allowed the institute to gain a foothold. Its next director was René Cassin, one of the authors of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Nobel Prize laureate in 1968.

In 1959 it changed its name to the Institut Libre d'Etude des Relations Internationales, the Free Institute for the Study of International Relations. Since 1977, the program has included economic knowledge and courses in the field of international security and economic forecasting. In the zero years, ILERI went through a cycle of successive reforms, developing education at the bachelor's level and making efforts to develop, increase internationalism, invest in academic reputation.

ILERY students are distinguished by love of freedom, receptivity, curiosity, willingness to take responsibility and fight challenges.

In addition to English, the following languages are taught at ILERI:

  1. European: German, Spanish, French as a foreign language, Italian, Portuguese.
