Helsingin Yliopisto is the largest educational institution in Finland. Helsinki University is one of the oldest universities in the country, which was founded in 1640. Initially, he was in Turku, later he was transferred to Helsinki. This is an educational institution with a general education profile. Facilities and equipment at Helsingin yliopisto (University)

The educational buildings are located in the very center of Helsinki. The campus is divided into four parts, each of them is allocated to one of the four main faculties of the university. Near the educational buildings there is a national library and a museum of the university. For the convenience of students on campus are hostels, gyms, computer centers and buffets.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

First of all, the entrant must provide a document on the receipt of an education, which must be translated into one of the following languages:

  • Finnish;
  • Swedish;
  • English.

The applicant must put an apostille. In addition to the application, the applicant must submit the following documents: a motivation letter, recommendations from a previous educational institution, a resume.

An applicant for a bachelor's program must pass the entrance exams. Subjects depend on the chosen specialty. The future student must pass the exams in Finnish or Swedish, as well as profile subjects.

The student must know English and confirm the level of ownership. To enter this university, the level should be - Proficiency. Applicants enrolling in a master's or doctoral program may need to pass an additional GRE exam. The applicant must make a contribution of € 100 at check-in.

Cost of education

Recently, a new educational reform was introduced, according to which education in English programs will cost € 1,500. For students, there is a mandatory annual contribution of € 80, which is paid into the student union. Housing, food and transportation students provide on their own. Spending on such needs is approximately € 700-800 per month.

Scholarships

The university does not have its own scholarship program for foreigners. But graduate students can receive a grant, which partially compensates for education expenses.

Students on exchange programs are paid monthly for € 500. There are special incentives for students on research direction programs. The CIMO Fellowships program offers a payment of € 800-1200 for 3-12 months.
