Abbey College is a secondary school in Cambridge, on the basis of which language courses and accommodation of students are organized. Cambridge is world famous for its colleges, beautiful architecture, natural landscapes. 

Summer English language programs on the abbey College campus are taught for students aged 12 to 18 years. The teaching staff regularly improves their skills so that the learning process for students is easy and effective. The courses contain not only English lessons, but also a large-scale cultural program: trips, excursions, various activities. Every day, students are watched by mentors who are ready to help solve any issues.

The English language course is focused on students' acquisition of basic skills, the development of communicative abilities. Classroom instruction takes place in a relaxed atmosphere using game learning methods.

Communication with native speakers is the main key to success in English. Students can practice their knowledge at numerous events and excursions, as well as in communication with roommates or with the host family. The course allows you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the English-speaking world, complemented by the study of historical sights.

Day Programme

Full-time education on the campus of Abbey College includes attending English lessons, off-site and campus activities. The emphasis in the curriculum is on communication skills, so all classes will be held in groups of up to 17 people. Representatives of different countries and peoples can study in one class, which makes learning diverse and exciting, gives students the opportunity to make friends, gain new knowledge about cultures and customs, distinctive from their own.

The weekly schedule includes 20 English lessons, each of which lasts 45 minutes. They are organized in the morning or afternoon, followed by recreational activities.

Under the guidance of teachers with many years of experience, students will improve their skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension. In groups, they will discuss everyday topics: personal interests, books and films, computer and board games, and much more. A lax environment focused on children's enthusiasm for learning will help students have a fun and useful summer vacation.

Students are invited to attend classes, events and field trips in a day format without accommodation - at the end of the school day, students leave the campus. The duration of the program is edited depending on the wishes of the student and starts from one week. Its cost includes all the services necessary for students: classes and educational material, lunches, trips and thematic events on campus, a graduate certificate.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Accommodation of students is possible both on campus and in a host family. Adult students can only be accommodated on campus, and most minors choose the option of a host family as a guarantor of a calm, family atmosphere, regular supervision and safety.

Living conditions on the abbey College campus:

Activities Embassy Summer Abbey College Camp

Most activities take place on weekdays between classes. Among them:

  • Sports: football, mini-Olympic Games, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, etc.
  • Creative: theatrical performances, talent shows, intellectual games, photo festivals, master classes

In the evenings, karaoke, literary readings, movie screenings are organized.

Three times a week, students can visit many attractions on excursions that last all day:

  • London – British Museum, National Gallery, Natural History Museum, Hyde Park, many Oxford shops, etc.

  • Oxford
  • Ely Cathedral, Cambridge Botanic Gardens.

Students also have the opportunity to spend the whole day boating on the River Cam, visit the Duxford Museum, King's College and Granchester Meadows.

Facilities and equipment at Embassy Summer Abbey College Camp

The language center is located on the campus of Abbey College in the modern central part of the city. Not far from the educational buildings there are the Central Railway Station, the University Botanical Garden, many shops, restaurants and cafes, museums, art galleries.

The campus covers an area of 70 acres, where the following are built:

  • Enclosures with auditoriums, the necessary video and audio equipment
  • Sports facilities: outdoor playgrounds, sports and gyms, swimming pool, archery shooting range and much more
  • Rooms for events, rehearsals of creative teams, art studios
  • Canteens, cafeterias

Admission dates and extra charges

The weekly schedule includes:

  • Language classes: 20 lessons of 45 minutes in the morning/afternoon
  • Walking, tourist excursions in the morning three times a week

All necessary materials for studies are provided. At the end of the course, students receive a certificate.

The price of the program includes accommodation, meals, excursions, activities.

Afternoon programs run from June 4 to August 12 for students between the ages of 12 and 17.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

On the first day of arrival, students take an entrance language test to determine the level of knowledge. The programs are designed for the age range of 12-17 years.

  • Mobile SIM card of local telecom operators
  • Health insurance.
