Dunn School (Dunn School Dunn School) is a boarding school which was founded in 1957. Today it teaches students - both boys and girls from 11 to 19 years (grades 6-12), both American subjects and foreign students. According to the traditional British system of education today, 65 children in the middle classes and 162 pupils of grades 9-12 are studying, which complete the school curriculum and are preparing to enter the best universities. The total number of students is about 110-120 people: they are representatives of 8 American states and 14 world states.

The strongest academic directions of Dunn School are mathematics, natural and human sciences and various art fields. Small classes (11 people maximum) and individual, personal approach, which are practiced by all teachers without exception, help students to learn. Each student, they are sure, has its unique gifts, talents and abilities - it is only necessary to correctly reveal its potential and give a clear motivation!

90% of high school students study at least 1 subject at the AP level (Advanced Placement) - in-depth, much more complex than the standard course. Almost 100% of graduates receive invitations from the best universities not only in the USA, but all over the world even before the certificate is received. "Attractiveness" of the student in the eyes of the Admission Committee is facilitated not only by high academic results, but also by creative and sporting successes, by activity in public activities.

Advanced Placement

Advanced education for high school students, traditional and typical in the United States. In high school, the United States offers students a huge selection of subjects to choose from - about 80 options! - of which 15-20 can be studied at an advanced level of increased complexity of AP (Advanced Placement). As a rule, subjects on AP students are chosen on the basis of their own preferences and goals - these are the disciplines that are required for entering the university, which the student plans to continue studying at the university. In the pupil's certificate, subjects studied at a complex level and passed on for examinations are marked as AP, which first of all attracts the attention of the admissions committee.

Dunn School at the AP level offers the following subjects:

The cost of schooling is 55,000 $ for the academic year (1 semester (half-year) = 27,500 $), including boarding and boarding at a full board. The indicated cost is not included and is paid additionally:

Accommodation, meals, prices

Residences for boys and girls (separate buildings) are located in the heart of the campus - it's easy to get to educational buildings, sports infrastructure and creative studios. In each residence, along with students, caregivers live with their families and even pets: they monitor the observance of cleanliness, order and discipline, provide comfort to students, help them with the solution of any emerging issues. The rooms are designed for 2 people (conveniences in sufficient quantity are located on the floors), cozy common living rooms are offered for relaxation with TV and DVD, student kitchens with necessary appliances and utensils. Each residence has its own laundry.

The boarding (3 meals a day) was marked with a sign of quality: only fresh and healthy dishes are served to students. Daily on the table appear salads and dishes of fresh vegetables, sauces, meat dishes and seafood, freshly squeezed juices and useful, delicious sweets and pastries, a large number of fruits. On request, you can organize a separate diet - for example, if the child is allergic, prefers the vegetarian menu.

The school tries to fill and fill every day students: every day they wake up at 7 in the morning, and the call-off sounds at 11 pm - and every minute is busy with useful and interesting affairs, communication and self-development.

The campus of the school is located in sunny and hospitable California, not far from the famous Santa Barbara and the spacious sandy beaches of the coast. Los Angeles International Airport can be reached within two hours, and to lively and vibrant San Francisco - for 5 hours by car.

The campus is located almost in an oak grove: it is a green, shady and well-groomed territory with clean air and an established infrastructure for eduvation, living, sports and recreation. The total area of ​​the territory reaches 55 acres - here are:

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

All applicants should prepare:

  • a report card for the admissions committee with grades from the previous school (data for the last 3 years)
  • recommendations from teachers (in priority - mathematics and English teachers)
  • characteristics from the class teacher, teachers, head teacher or director (always on the form schools on a corporate model)
  • a SSAT entrance test is mandatory for all, and if you can provide a TOEFL certificate confirming the level of the English language, you will get a slight advantage.

For all entrants, a personal interview is conducted with the director or the representative of the admissions committee - in person or by Skype.
