Known and popular with students around the world Duke of York School Summer School - The Summer Camp Churchill House - combines the experience of the organization Churchill House, which since 1971 successfully organizes seasonal vacation programs, and infrastructure, the traditions of the old school Duke of York School, deservedly considered one of the best in the UK. Camp campus is located in Kent, near the famous port city of Dover (just 3 kilometers from the historic center).

Duke of York School is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the UK. A rich history that began a century ago, however, does not prevent the educational institution from keeping up with the times: recently, more than 24 million pounds have been invested in renewing the infrastructure and expanding the campus. New residences for junior students, a private theater with professional equipment, a spacious pool and new gyms, fields and playgrounds were built.

Summer course of English for foreign students

An interesting and effective course of English for summer vacations is an excellent opportunity to spend time with pleasure and pleasure in one of the best schools in Great Britain. Groups 8-10, 11-14 and 15-17 years are offered: for each age group, not only its own educational program is developed, but also its leisure and entertainment program.

Before the beginning of the education, all students undergo a single introductory testing, which determines their initial level of knowledge and distributes them to the appropriate group: thus learning becomes more comfortable, quick and efficient (from Elementary to Advanced). The intensity of the lessons is small - 15 academic hours per week: this helps and quickly develop the language skills, and leaves enough time for interesting leisure, excursions and entertainment. The summer language course aims at a comprehensive improvement of all key knowledge and skills of English:

  • Auditing (listening comprehension)
  • Vocabulary (active expansion of vocabulary)
  • Written speech
  • Oral speech (spoken English)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation, accent correction)
  • Improve communication skills.

The summer camp works for students 8-10, 11-14 and 15-17 years old. The cost of staying in the camp depends on the chosen program (the price is indicated for 1 person for 1 week):

  • General combined English course = 620 £
  • Junior Program (group course for children 8-10 years old) = 660 £
  • Explorer Program = 645 £.

Accommodation, meals, prices

For students of summer courses, comfortable rooms are prepared in the schools' residences (common facilities, in sufficient numbers are located on each floor). Teachers are constantly on duty in their homes, general living and socializing lounges with soft furniture, TV, a zone of table games are prepared.

The board meals of the summer course are useful, tasty and balanced: all dishes (including vegetarian options) are prepared only from fresh products of predominantly local production. On the preliminary request and agreement it is possible to organize an individual dietary ration.

The school campus is perfectly prepared for the stay of both year-round and summer students. Students are engaged in bright, well-equipped classrooms with computer and interactive equipment, live in comfortable and cozy residences, and for leisure, creativity and active recreation, numerous fields and grounds (indoor and outdoor), a large multi-purpose sports hall and a spacious pool are prepared.

The campus is located in the picturesque, tranquil area of ​​Kent, near the port city of Dover with its legendary, extraordinary beautiful white rocks - the historic "sea gates" of England, which are protected by the massive and majestic Normandy castle. The distance from the school to the city center is only 3 kilometers: half an hour you can reach the old Canterbury, close to the cities of Ramsgate and Broadstairs (the "city of Dickens").

The summer camp works for students 8-10, 11-14 and 15-17 years old. The cost of staying in the camp depends on the chosen program (the price is indicated for 1 person for 1 week):

  • General combined English course = 620 £
  • Junior Program (group course for children 8-10 years old) = 660 £
  • Explorer Program = 645 £.
