Education information
7 times out of 10 when it comes to sports in the United States, basketball in general and the NBA in particular come to the speaker's mind. Sport is a significant component of the American academic and sports mentality, which allows students to join such values as fairplay, dedication and a sense of elbow.
According to statistics, in 2022, 59% of boys and 52% of girls in the United States play as part of sports teams, and basketball is one of the most popular areas - it is preferred by 19% and 15%, respectively. As you move into high school, the number of students involved in sports activities increases, and at the university, team sports play an important role in building community and act as a "backup entrance" that ensures diversity.
Playing for a university team "in exchange" for a scholarship is one way to allow talented teenagers from low-income families to earn a bachelor's degree. So, every year, the National Collegiate Athletic Association awards scholarships to 130,000 students with full or partial coverage - the total amount of the scholarship fund exceeded $ 1.5 billion.
