Most students prepare to take three subjects, but some take two to five disciplines from a fairly large list:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • English Language and Literature,
  • Government and politics,

Group classes are 15 hours a week in the company of no more than three people. Lessons last from 9:00 to 16:00 on weekdays, additional classes - in the afternoon. In the process of studying, regular tests are conducted to monitor academic performance, and "full" exams are scheduled after the Christmas and Easter holidays.

English as a second, foreign language

The course is designed to improve the language skills of international students.

Carfax College offers personalized English language courses in which training is directed to those areas that need the most improvement. The curriculum, as in other programs of the school, is regulated for the needs of the student. Classes can be held both in individual and in group formats.

Most of the students in the courses are preparing to take IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or other internationally recognized English language exams .

Accommodation, meals, prices

Most students are accommodated in host families' homes. The family environment provides round-the-clock support and rapid adaptation to the culture of the country, as well as language practice outside the school walls. All families are regularly inspected, their homes are located in beautiful and safe parts of Oxford, close to the study campus. All residents are provided with a private room, breakfast and dinner. The cost of living is up to 9500£.

Some older students prefer to rent rooms or apartments. Such a housing option is possible only if the student can demonstrate high academic success and independence.

All international pupils under the age of 18 must have a guardian from the UK. The institution provides a list of trustees if the student has no relatives in the new country. For long-term study at Carfax College, students are registered with a local general practitioner.

Activities Carfax College

Throughout the academic year, students can participate in a variety of cultural and sporting activities. In addition to team games (football and basketball), classes are organized in individual sports: tennis, swimming, sailing, horseback riding and other areas. If necessary, the student can hire a school coach - a qualified specialist for more effective education .

Also on campus there is a gym, membership in which can be organized on preferential terms.

All students have access to music, visual and theatrical arts lessons in the format of studio classes. Carfax College regularly hosts events in new areas, such as debate: debates help students develop self-confidence, logical thinking and public speaking skills.

One of the main types of extracurricular activities is charity. By helping to organize fundraising for local and international societies, students learn to be useful and educate personal skills.
