Brandenburgische Technische Universitat (BTU)is a state technical university in Brandenburg. The institution was founded on the basis of the Construction Engineering School, which in 1994 became the Brandenburg University of Technology. In the following years, large construction works were carried out on the campus, the number of students and educational programs increased. In 2013, another university was attached to the university - since then BTU has existed in its current format, continuing to develop all aspects of educational, scientific, student life.
At the moment, about 7,000 students study here, about 30% of whom are foreigners from more than 100 countries. The teaching staff includes 185 professors and 640 additional teachers.

Accommodation, meals, prices
Housing for students is located on the campus in Cottbus. The hostel has prepared 313 apartments:
- 293 one-room apartments for 285€
- 20 two-room apartment for 395€ unfurnished / 480€ furnished.
The amount is indicated for the rental of premises per month, including utilities. One-room rooms are fully furnished, two-room - at the request of residents. Bathrooms are located in each apartment.

Activities Brandenburg University of Technology
Every year in January, a university ball is held at BTU, for the organization of which the dining room turns into a ballroom. Prizes of the university for the best academic dissertations of the university and individual faculties are awarded annually on this day.
The summer semester begins with the Classic & Clubbing event: the club atmosphere is combined with a midnight concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the State Theater.
The open day is intended not only for potential students, but also visitors - this is an opportunity to learn more about projects, communicate with researchers.
Each academic year begins with a festive enrollment in the university and ends with a concert collegium musicum.

Admission dates and extra charges
The school year begins in early October and consists of two semesters: winter, summer. Eduaction lasts until June-July.

Monthly expenses – about 600-800€. A semester ticket for transport is included in the semester fees, trips are paid in advance to Berlin, Brandenburg, Dresden.
Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
To enter BTU, you should:
- Register on the official website of the university
- Apply no later than October 4
- Pay semester fees
- Send the necessary documents by mail/online to the admission committee.
Before admission, the applicant can test his knowledge by passing an online test in the disciplines of the university, or attend preparatory courses.
Requirements for future bachelors, including foreign students:

- Results of entrance examinations
- Academic achievements for 1-2 academic courses at the previous stage of study
- TOEFL iBT certificate with a score of at least 79 points / equivalent
